They did a great job with this sleeve. The leather feels expensive and supple, the stitching is top quality, and the overall look is elegant. The sleeve is light, so it doesn't add much to my Mac Air's weight, and yet the padding is generous. Nor does the sleeve add to the size much: I can still slide the laptop with its sleeve into a standard document partition of a small, European briefcase that has no laptop compartment. The flap closes tightly and easily with the two Velcro strips and the strong, silky, red string. A nice touch is a little leather tab at the end of the string: it looks like a tiny cowhide, and has the word "leather" on it. The sleeve fits the laptop perfectly, and there are no gaps or openings. The "Civilian" logo on the front of the sleeve is discreet, and so are the vent holes. If you think that a "leather Manila envelope" would look tacky, think again. Somehow, in black, this just works very well. I love it!

This is a terrific, well made, and comfortable sleeve-type case for your Macbook Air. It fits the newest (Late 2010) MBA 13" like a charm as well.

The leather is high quality, the craftsmanship is super, and it's better quality than similar sleeves you might find. It also has a well-designed ventilation system that looks sharp but is also practical.

I recommend this sleeve case if you are looking for the best you can find.

People always look as you pull your Air out of this nice leather envelope. It looks great and fits perfect. The only problem is I wish they kept the company logo to a less noticeable size.

Love the style of this case and have already gotten several compliments. Unfortunately the red tie string is already a bit frayed, even though it is only a few days old. Also as it is designed to fit MacAIr and MacPro 13 inches, it is a bit big on the new Mac Air, and I would have preferred one that was a bit smaller and fitted to the MacAir (which most people purchase due to its small and slim size).

This may seem expensive, but a neoprene sleeve sells for $39.99 at most retail shops and is too big for the new Macbook Air 13.3. I received this today, slipped my Macbook Air into it, and realized I made a great purchase. The product is well made. You won't be disappointed if you get one.

I had been looking at this for a while before getting it, I actually bought another type of sleeve (neoprene) and it worked but it was not fair to put my gorgeous MBA in it, when I finally ordered it I was ready and boy it does not disappoint. If I must say something negative about it is that Civilian Lab should remove their logo and give you the option to personalize it with your own, I mean, they can increase their revenue. Otherwise, very well made, sturdy and handsome.

I purchased this for my new 13" MacBook Air and it is absolutely perfect. The Air fits snugly into the sleeve. The leather and the padding give it just enough protection without being bulky. When I bring it out, it gets the reaction you would expect . . . everyone smiles because they remember the commercial when the Air first came out where they pulled it out of a manila envelope. I put my Air into the sleeve, then place it in a messenger bag with my power cord, etc. for travel. If I'm going somewhere for a couple of hours and won't need the power, I just put my laptop in the sleeve and go. If this is how you carry your MacBook Air, then I highly recommend this product.

When I ordered this item, I wondered if I'd just splurged on something that would be turn out to be more fun than functional. However, when the sleeve arrived, I realized I'd made a great purchasing decision. The sleeve serves the exact purpose I was looking for: a way to carry my MacBook Air securely and easily. I'm often running from one location to the next, and I can slip my laptop into this envelope and walk around with it under my arm. Bonus for the item being well-designed and crafted!

I bought this item originally for an ultra-compact Dell e4200 and it has performed flawlessly under various conditions (including rain and children)for almost three years now - it works great for protection the unit is in perfect shape... And then I bought one for my iPad for extra protection when throwing it around the car and house. It seemed like a good price and the envelop can be reused (I have a Speck cover on the iPad itself). Now I just bought a third for my new MacAir 13 inch. Why this cover? They have gotten wet, crushed, scratched and all three have protected each unit perfectly and with class - these are very well constructed and real waterproof leather. Highly recommended!
