3.0 out of 5 stars Apparently, Kindle isn't suited for comics August 29, 2010

As soon as I saw this was out I rushed over to Amazon and snagged a copy. It's not bad, but the Kindle version is just pathetic.

You only get 4 stories, but that's okay for $5. It's pricey compared to what you'd get with Yen Plus or Jump (in English or Japanese), but compared to Marvel or DC it's reasonable pricing. And where else are you going to get Kago Shintaro published in English?

No, the worst bit is that it's so low resolution. It only takes up half my screen, and if you zoom in, the artifacts are clearly visible and you can no longer turn the pages. You need to close the zoom and then you can turn pages again. Just awful. The art is quite good, and 480x640 or whatever it's encoded as is just criminal in 2010. I can get manga from pirate sites for free that looks far better than this. So don't slap me in the face for trying to pay you for it.
