It is nice to have a small package phone on my home hard line, nothing else to clip on or get tangled up. The instructions are short and unclear. They DO say though not to leave the thing charging too long. The battery doesn't last days so I keep the unit turned off and swich it on after I hear another phone in the house ring. I've talked for over 45 min before it started fading and cutting out. The manufactures need to work on the charging brains. There are many products that do not have you manually take it off the charger after so many hours.

This is a nice little phone for nice little ears. I needed a handsfree phone for taking calls while I am working. My old phone was the type that clips to your belt with the headset connecting to it via a cable. The cable is the weak link in such phones. In addition to snagging on things all the time, the cable plug inevitably becomes the source of bad connectivity. I was determined to find a substitute without a cable. This unit was attractively priced and sized and is actually a very nice little item except that the mfr did not see fit to make the ear clip that holds the phone to your ear adjustable. I have tried the phone without the earclip, just sort of plugging the earpiece into my ear. This is relatively comfortable for my ear, but it means I can't tilt my head and the mic is constantly rubbing against the stubble on my cheek which sounds to the party on the other end like static. If I use the earclip, the earbud does not line up with the canal of my ear, it rest slightly above and chafes the inside of my ear which becomes intolerable after about half an hour. So, nice phone, with good sound and nice compact design but probably best for people with small heads and ears.
Added 11-29-07. A note about the battery life. This unit has a rechargeable battery. At 15 months, after recharging it, I can use it for about 2 minutes before the low battery beeping begins. So, the battery lasts all of 3 months more than the warranty and then the entire unit has to be replaced. Cute, huh?

Nice Concept,

I've had this phone for 6 months. I love the idea of being totally hands-free while talking on my land line. It's pretty light weight. I wish there was a little more curvature to the mic peiece that hangs. I have high cheekbones and the mic rubs against them. This in turn sounds like static to the caller. The continuous talk time is approx 55 minutes and after that "it's a wrap".

Great Little Ear Phone! James Bond Look Out!,

Wow, talk about convenient! This phone comes with your standard cordless phone features but in a much smaller package.....redial....call waiting...clear channel search....call volume.
I was looking for something were I could talk on the phone and still be able to do things at the same time, PLUS I got sick of after being on the phone for a while (using a regular cordless the phone) having the phone and my ear get hot. I didn't want to buy a bulky standard headset for my regular phone and have to deal with carrying the phone, cord and headset. I had one of those and found it was more trouble than not having the headset at all, considering I STILL had to carry the phone and worry about forgetting I had the headset on and ripping the cord out from the phone after setting it down. BOY this little device REALLY stopped all that. Its light and you honestly forget you have it on. The phone is clear and have not had any problems with people I call either. I'm constantly asking people I call how I sound with this little guy and they all say the same thing "You sound fine why?" This is a very well made phone and comes with a replaceable rechargeable battery. I've seen similar earphones sell for double what this sells for...look it up yourself! Yes it is 2.4 GHz instead of the new 5.8 GHz BUT I do have a 5.8 GHz and really cannot tell the difference BOTH come in clear as a bell. It takes between 4 - 6 hours to charge and lasts a good 3- 4 hours of "CONSTANT USE", which is very similar to the regular cordless phone I have. I read other reviewers say the range isn't that good.....WELL you could've fooled me! I used this thing while getting my mail outside and working in the yard and it worked fine...maybe once in a while some static would come on if I went too far (Just Like My BIG phone) Great little phone to use with a splitter (That's what I did) that way I answer the big phone...but if its NOT going to be an on/off conversation I put on the Ear Phone...its great! NO MORE "HOT EAR" like with what you get when you use the Regular cordless phones. Also would be a great phone to use at work....I'm telling you after about 5 minutes you'll forget its on.....and your hands are free to not stop what your doing! Ohhh one more thing, Its ringer is a nice decent sound, unlike the high pitched IRRITATING ringer of my big phone! Look NO cordless phone is perfect, but this one comes alot closer than others! GLAD I GOT IT!

I regret buying this product. The sound is horrible -- it's full of statics. There is no support at all for this product. Totally wasted my money! I wonder why other reviews said they got good sound. Make sure if can return the product before you buy!

I have read so many reviews on this phone before I purchased it. I got this phone for my magic jack. I needed it there because I work with my hands all day.
This phone has performed wonderfully. I charge it at night and keep it on all day. The only draw back is it needs to be contoured to fit your ear. Out the box a couple of bends will suffice. The Mic is very strong... which means you need to turn it down... and the magic jack has an option to do so. I also use it on my regular line and it is awesome. UPDATE.....UPDATE....... This phone clonked out on me in July from over charging. Now it's useless.

Bought it for my mom for her work where she works as a saleswoman at a quality kitchenware
mega store. Since she needed to receive and make calls all day while running around in the store helping customers, she wanted a handsfree set for the landline. She used it for one day, told me how convenient this little thing is. Starting the 2nd day of use, it started malfunctioning. Its battery would run out after 10 min even though it's been recharging for hours. She brought back home for me to inspect it and after 2 days of retesting and dissembling, I found nothing wrong with it. Then I found others' reviews about it online and lo and behold, everyone else have had the same problems with it. so by the 4th day, battery would only last a minute or so even with over night of recharge. Also, when worn, it does not stay on your ear. And it's not so light that your ear gets tired after awhile. For sure, this is a nifty concept and there are handsfree headsets out there for landline phones, but unfortunately they run from $100~$500 which is ridiculous because phones themselves don't cost that much.

I really liked the idea of this phone, but was very disappointed when i actually got it. It is very uncomfortable to wear. It constantly fell off my ear and I could never find a comfortable position on my ear for it. The sound quality was fairly poor, even right next to the base. Also, since it doesn't sit securely in your ear, the microphone rubs against your face and you hear scratching noises in the ear piece, as well as the person you are talking to hearing it. The battery life is also a major issue with this device, and it is not really replaceable at all. Overall, anyone interested in this product I advise you look for something better than this because you might just be totally disappointed with this like i was.

I've had this for ten months, and the battery now lasts only 11 minutes before the low battery warning beeps start. That's the most critical issue. But there are other problems as well.
The earhook is awkwardly shaped and uncomfortable, and doesn't keep the headset positioned well, so the microphone rubs against your face, transmitting that noise as static. There's a switch on the base unit that's supposed to choose between pulse or tone dial, but my phone always does pulse dial regardless of the setting. I have to hit the pound key to switch to tone dialing every time I dial a number. This phone also interferes with WiFi quite a bit during use. To turn the ringer off, you have to turn the phone off, and if you turn the phone off it won't charge on the charger. It WILL power on, though. It seems the power switch on the headset only disconnects the battery from the rest of the circuit. So if you switch the headset off intending for it not to ring and wake you up at night, then put it on the charger to recharge it, it won't charge but it will ring! Worse yet, as soon as you pick up the ringing phone, since the switch is in the off position the headset will lose power leaving you confused. After that, you may fail to answer the phone in time, or accidentally pick up and hang up. OK, this particular problem can be avoided just by knowing not to put it on the charger switched off, but between this, the battery issues, and the other issues I mentioned, I have to give this phone the lowest rating. |
