This review is from: CONFLICT: DESERT STORM 2- BACK TO BAGHDAD (Video Game)
Desert Storm II is unique due to the fact that you operate a small team of four elite soldiers both in single player mode or in multi-player mode. One by one, you have to select and move your soldiers into position. Soldiers have access to a large variety of weapons and can swap items between one another. What I like most about this game is that the weapons operate as they would in real life. For example, if you plant a C-4 explosive and then detonate it when you are close, you will kill yourself. Novices will love the machine gun options. You can adjust the gun settings for semi-auto, fully auto, and grenade launch (for guns equipped). Skilled players will love the sniper rifle, which has the capacity to zoom in on an enemy even from great distances. It seems that anything that is possible in real life, is also possible in this game. You will never find yourself saying, "Why can't I...I should be able to..." Each mission offers a new style of excitement. You will face off against infantry, tanks, helicopters, and you will defuse or blow-up weapons of mass destruction. This game offers challenge without the frustration. I recommend playing the "training" sessions before going into war. The training sessions will teach you how to operate the weapons and all their advanced features. I would highly recommend this game for a teenager or more mature player due to the level of strategy and realism. Adult players will be satisfied. This game is worth every penny.

I bought this game the other day for the Gamecube and it is great. I hated Socum the map was just to complicated and it took forever to load. The graphics were great but the game Conflict Desert Storm 2 is perfectly solid. There not the best graphics in the world but they hold up better than any other war game ive seen yet. You can expect better graphics since it is on the Gamecube, and sound. Actually when I think about it the sound is amazing in this game no sound glitches no hiccups or problems with the cd. Im really far in the game and ive been playing single player and multiplayer. This game has the best frame rates per second for a war game. The multiplayer has no drop in frame rates nor any graphic dissolution for having two screens. The Co-op mode is worth it. There are so many guns and ways to take out the enemy that it doesn't get boring. Actually it is kinda hard but you will learn quickly if you keep at it. This is the best war game yet. Keep it up Gotham Games.

As a true Nintendo fan, this game stands out in my collection as a game with a lot of wieght in it since its storyline is based in real events, and it is better than the original Conflict: Desert Storm in many ways. Improved graphics, charecters whos lips actually moves, more phrases each character says, and smarter AI. Also the cutscenes are somehwhat like the actual gameplay, just a little dresses up. Much better than the original games ones. The characters are the same and there are some new weapons, so if you've played the first game theres nothing really mind-boogling here. There is a new grenade type, a flare gun, and another mine type, but you don't use them often so if you've played the first you can pretty much jump right in. Also, there is a new Buggy for your group to ride in as well as an enemy BMP and an upgraded M2 Bradley. The new missions stand out as seperate from the first game and do usually give you a sense of purpose. You go up against more armor this time around and often you are forced to leap frog around it with smoke grenades to hit their vulnerable rear. This often puts you in a state between insanity, frustration, and pride when you do blow them up. The single player mission is a bit short, but having both the SAS and Delta Force as well as the three difficulties extends the experience for a faithful player. The real fun is the cooperative play. This lets you focus more on your player than the whole team since all the burden isn't on you. And you can make strategy right with the person beside you. I gave this game a four because of short single player, the few vehicles, and the squad control which lacks the feeling of your squad having any brains of their own sometimes. Also sometimes in the game you don't really feel like your squad has a lot of different ways to complete a mission. Its a solid buy for anyone who got the first, but if you haven't, rent it first to see if you'd like it. If you like Freedom Fighters this game is like it, just has a weaker storyline, more tanks, and less heroic gameplay. I'd get Freedom Fighters first.

Individuality equals Superiority,

The thing that makes the Conflict: Desert Strorm series different is the ability to control more than one soldier at a tiume. This is an improvement on the other war games where it is mainly one action hero behind enemy lines who can take out incredible numbers of enemy soldiers, and win the war singlehandedly. ODS2's graphics are amazing and the Co-ops multiplayer was a wonerful touch. normally in video games I get wiped all over by the people sitting right next to me, but in this game we can play on the same team. perfect for the losers out there who cant beat their older (or younger) sibling. The sound quality was great and the maps are far superior to that of Socom. All in all this is a must have game for all war lovers.

I find that it is quite strange that a lot of war games have a lot of media hype like the Tom Clancy Rainbow Six series. I found a gem in this game. This game reminds me a little of Halo. It is a fun game that is even more fun with a friend. The graphics is superb. The gameplay is incredible. You find yourself on vehicles or crawling on the ground for cover. It is so realistic that I once threw a grenade and accidently threw it against a post only to have it bounce back at me and explode. This game is a must have for war game and action enthusiasts.

Great game!
Graphics: 7/10 The graphics are pretty good, but the scenery could use a little work, same with the Iraqi soldiers models. Sound: 8/10 The sound is also pretty good. Difficulty: 8/10 Ok, this IS a very hard game. In the first level, there are hard parts, and easy parrts. The town area was hard, but the iraqi camp area was pretty easy. The second level was very hard, and all of the others, take time, and lots of skill. So remember, I'm just warning you, this IS a pretty hard game, dont get it not knowing what to expect, and get fustraded because its hard. A.I.: 7/10 At times, it seems like the enemy AI is better then your squads AI. Controls: 9/10 The controls are very good. But, if you are new to this game, they might get a little confusing. like commanding your squad members. You press Z, then press down, and an arrow will point to one of your squad members, then, why that arrow is on the one you choose to command, you press X. Over all: 8/10 This is just a really good game, with some minor annoying things. Some little things you might want to know. This game has 10 levels. This game is Co-op. Meaning, you can give stuff ( guns, gernades, ammo, ect) to your teammates! If you're concerned bout how bloody this game is.. its not really bloody.
