3.0 out of 5 stars Not great, but good for the price, April 16, 2008
This review is from: Painted Adirondack Chair (Kitchen)
I ordered two of these chairs in white. The chairs are going to need some work before they are ready to be used. The workmanship is just OK. They need to be re-painted and weather-proofed before they are ready for my porch, but the price is unbeatable. My only major complaint is that the wood is fairly thin, so I am unsure if it would hold up for heavier people.

These are great for their price, but I wonder how long they will last. The wood started splitting already just during assembly and every time someone sits on one it creaks like it's splitting more. Not bad for a short term city deck chair, but if I lived somewhere in the country I'd buy the one made with better wood.

They look nice though and are good for the price so far.

3.0 out of 5 stars Here's the honest truth on these chairs..., February 27, 2009

I was a little dubious about ordering these chairs after reading the reviews, but the price made it VERY compelling. A few comments about the chairs overall:

- They go together easily and directions and parts were all included
- Paint job was ok, but not perfect (some chipping and dings but nothing horrible)
- As one other reviewer pointed out, the wood seemed thin and may not be very good support for a heavier person
- The size of the chairs is awesome...they are large and there is enough room on the arms to set a glass, plate etc without fear of it toppling over
- They are stable and sit on the ground squarely without a "wobbly" feeling

Overall, I would say these are a great value for someone who wants this type of chair but can't afford to pay twice as much. Think IKEA when you decide if you want these chairs. They are similar in quality to IKEA furniture and will probably last about that long. I think a couple years of use can be realistically expected. I do not regret my purchase!!! We plan to take the chairs appart once we are ready to replace them and use the pieces to make some better quality chairs of our own. The design is great!!!

3.0 out of 5 stars A little wobbly, but nice looking, May 27, 2008

I live in an area where Adirondack chairs might just get up and walk away (if you know what I mean), so I didn't want to invest $150 or more for each one and end up heartbroken if they went missing. The shipping was reasonable on these and the price can't be beat. I had no problem assembling them with a screwdriver, but no matter how tightly all the screws are turned, the chair does tend to move a little... similar to a gliding motion. They're sturdy enough to hold an adult without breaking, but won't exactly be the envy of everyone you know.

2.0 out of 5 stars White Adirondack Chair, May 14, 2008
This review is from: Painted Adirondack Chair, WHITE (Kitchen)
Very delicate quality-These chairs are creaking when we sit on them-my husband who is 200 lbs-refuses to sit on them-he almost broke one-so we are getting one for him with dowels-this chair is screwed together with a few screws...a concern. I am 100 lbs so these chairs are "mine" as long as I don't flop on them!
