    I have purchased a new pair of these every year or 2 for past 6-7 years. Before that, off and on for 20+ years. I seam to recall that the manufacturing was moved from US to China some time ago, but never really noticed the difference (if I'm even remembering correctly). But when I received these, I thought I had gotten some type of cheap knock-off from Indonesia (they are in fact labeled, "made in Indonesia.")

    It never dawned on me to read the reviews for something I have ordered time and time again, but sure enough, there's a long list of folks who share my complaints. Not sure why I didn't send them back, other than not having a second choice in mind at the time. In hind sight, I should've just gone to Target and got a pair of Converse One-Stars for $35.

    INSULT TO INJURY: On the topic of $35 canvas shoes, these "new" JP's aren't even worth that. Amazingly, they have still GONE UP in price from the true classic that is, apparently, no longer available.

    SUMMARY: Unless you JUST GOTTA HAVE a new pair of JP's, don't throw away your money on these junkers.

    I love the style of these shoes but come on Converse make these in the U.S.A again!! Shoe laces are cheap. Rubber seams along the edges of the shoes are coming apart in places after 3 months of easy wear. Great old school sneaker design so so manufacture.

    These shoes were recommended to me by a couple of friends, and initially I really liked them. They look clean, have a simple yet classic design, and I was quite pleased. Sadly, that's where the praise ends. I received these shoes December 5th of last year, and have worn them 3-5 times a week since. Barely 6 months in I am completely floored by how low quality they are. The rubber on the sides of the soles are falling off the soles, the worse being the right side of my right shoe with a gap spanning about 2 inches. The inside heel of both shoes look worse than the Adidas that I wore as a daily shoe for 2 years! I'll let the pictures do the talking, but I will never again buy another pair of converse. At $60, I'm more than disappointed at the trash quality of these shoes.

    Terrible. These are not the same white Purcells as pictured. These are the cheap "remastered" ones converse made. No logo on the tongue, padded insoles are gone as well, and the rubber has a yellow-ish tint to it that makes them look dirty when compared to the white canvas. Im sending them back

    These shoes were so popular when and where I was in middle school and high school. I love the feel of the thick sole underneath the lightweight top. This shoe was cool then and now I'm bring them back! Plus I love the story behind Jack Purcell - these are the original "Air Jordans" you might say.

    I have gotten these before, so I knew what size to get. I wish they had an 8.5 in women's though, but that wasn't the case. I love these shoes, but i find that they get holes/the rubber tears on the sides easily.
