I'd been looking for a 5 string acoustic bass for practice and playing around the house.I didn't want to pay for a lower end bass that needed lots of work out the box. I took my time and ran across this one. The stuff I read about this one all looked good. The price was great and so was the bass. The action is nice ,low no fighting it to play. B string pretty good as well, tight not floppy. Body of the bass is thin very easy to hold and play. Lastly the electrics in the bass sound great and work just as well. For the price and the value I don't think you can do better. I've beed a bass played for over 30 years now I own and play 14 basses 12 electric 2 acoustic. Thank you for your time I hope this was of some use to you. Practice,Practice, Practice, you can do it if you try.

Sounds great and electronics are top shelf. You will not find a better acoustic bass for this price. This is the thin body version, if you are looking for a campfire "unplugged" bass I would suggest the full body. Sound is ok for practicing by yourself unplugged, in fact its great. Cant hold its own with one acoustic guitar playing unless you plug in. Action is low with no buzz( even low B) and after getting used to the body style (think longer acoustic guitar) this bass is a dream to play. Would like to see a nut on top of body for a strap I hate to screw anything into this bass its so freaking gorgeous) I make do with old school strap at top which can be a little awkward for the length of this bass. Sitting down is no problem. Did I mention how beautiful this bass is. My friends all think this is the pro model and estimate the price at $1000+ . To be honest, sound dictates what I do and if this bass didn't have a good sound I wouldn't play it. I've been gigging with this for about 5 months and so far so good. Its held up to some pretty good abuse and keeps on ticking. From large outdoor venues to small clubs this cab-55 holds its own. Even though I give it 5 stars I have to add, good luck finding a case for this thing. I've been searching with no luck so far and eventually tricked out a double hunting blind soft case to accommodate my bass. Wish I could find a hard case.
