A decent transition to ddr3 memory.,
This review is from: CORSAIR XMS3 DHX 4GB ( 2 X 2GB ) PC3-12800 1600MHz 240-pin DDR3 CL9 Dual Channel Desktop Memory Kit - TW3X4G1600C9DHX (Personal Computers)
This is my first rig with ddr3 and I must say I am impress. I had to manually set the memory to 1600mhz from 1333mhz and change the timings to the cas latency advertised.

I received it yesterday and installed it instantly. Works fine and really boosted the PC performance since I was using a temporary 1GB 1333 Mz. The heat sink is excellent and the packing was very good since I ordered it to Kuwait .

Corsair is one of the leading computer memory manufacturers, and this is why I decided to buy this RAM without any hesitation. I bought it at Christmas for a wonderful price.
The packaging is great, the speed is wonderful, the heatsink looks smart, and it was instantly recognized by my motherboard - MSI 790GX. I will definitely buy another pack when I need more ram. 4GB of memory seems to be more than enough for almost anything. My most intensive use of my computer only uses 1.5-2GB of memory. If you're building a new PC and are not sure about how much RAM you need then initially get a 4GB kit, you can always add more RAM later. The only application that I use which will benefit from extra memory is Adobe Photoshop. I had no issues installing AMD's stock heatsink and fan with this memory in place. Notes: - It is was initially recognized as 1066MHz by my motherboard. The voltage and the frequency had to be increased in the bios to the advertised values. By searching Corsair's forums it seems that this is normal for this memory kit and is not motherboard specific, which explains why it only gets four stars. - Use Corsair's memory finder to find a list of the motherboards that support this memory kit.
