Very Good Book For Funk Keyboard,

This book starts off very simply. If you're not a beginning player, you might want to skip ahead past the major chords and their inversions. The best part about this book is if you master each lesson before going on the next; you will be rock solid in the pocket with two hands. The book covers some rudiments like Major chords and inversions, Minor Chords and Inversions, Then 7th chords. It also hits you with a C Blues scale.
Where it really hits home is in the rhythm examples. They have you play an eighth note bassline while stabbing chords in every spot possible. For instance the first time you play on the one, the measure chord on the "and" of one, measure after that same chord on the Two, Then the "and" of two. It's not just one chord though. It's a little more complicated than that. They do not get into advanced chords. 9, #9, b9, 11, 13. No diminished/augmented, Suspended Chords, 6th chords, etc. There's another book after for that stuff. They tell you the title at the end. If you want to develop your ability to play syncopated left hand/right hand funk parts - this is THE book to start with. Google "Nat Funk", That's me. Full-time bass player. Listen to me play and decide for yourself if I know what I'm talking about.

This book is literally a progression of cowboy chords (C,G,D,etc.) played in boring straight 8th-note rhythms. Do not buy. It's a waste of your time and money. I wish you could view inside this book to see how bad it is.
