Great vendor, crappy part.

It came quickly but the CD wouldn't read. So the vendor sent me the drivers. Still no joy.
I searched and tried a dozen drivers. Nothing works. After reading many posts, it seems like a common problem. A replacement part seems to be the only solution.

The vendor offered a replacement. It wasn't worth going to the PO to send it back. I found another that worked fine first time.

Haven't had any luck in using this usb/serial cable with my garmin etrex. Haven't been able to get help so just save your money. Tried both xp and vista computers.

Tried using this with my Garmin ETrex series GSP. Could not get it to work. Tried the drivers that came with the adapter, tried drivers from various online sites. Tried it on Windows ME, XP, and Vista. Did confirm that data was flowing using the old Hyperterminal, but I have no idea if it was transmitting useful information or gibberish. Regardless, it never worked for my intended purupose.

good product. Purchased to be used to interface my computer that has only USB connectors with older equipment having RS-232 connectors only. Works well.

I did not realize that the reviews for this vendor are so low and ordered a USB to RS232 cables:
1. The two locking knobs on the DB25 rotate and come off.
2. One pin on the DB25 was bent.
3. The install software is not recognized by Microsoft to be compatible with Windows operating system and can damage the computer.

It took few days to get feedback.
Not worth returning since I have to pay for shipping a low cost defective product.
Amazon has nothing to do with handling this issue but they pocket the profit and they keep a vendor with a ratings of 1!

Find other ways to purchase you product.

I had no clue that i'd need a driver to use this. It didn't come with a driver and now what the heck do i do? What a waste of money...and i bought two of them. Seriously avoid this "deal"!
