This review is from: New CPD540AP 4 Channels DVR with No Hard drive Real time Triplex H.264 with built in H.264 web server for remote viewing and operation Audio, PTZ, Alarm, network or USB back up Remote control and VGA & BNC output 4CH DVR 120FPS (Electronics)
This device seems to work adequately. Does what is described sufficiently. But it isn't very sophisticated.
The web interface is just an extension of the exterior buttons on the physical unit. Operating it's functions...like setting the time...is like trying to set time on one of the old iPods using just the scroll wheel and a few buttons. I was anticipated maybe the web access might allow me to use a keyboard to do stuff like set IP addresses, time...etc. But no...it's even more difficult than using the actual buttons on the console. But it does what it's supposed to...with zero flair. Personally, I recommend buying the one with no hard drive and putting your own in so you can choose the size. I do like the feature on this model of being able to connect it to a PC and taking the video files.

Mine arrived today from ussecuritysolutions and I installed the hard drive but then noticed this is not the DVR I ordered.
I ordered the CPD540AP (without a hard drive)but received the YY-VC-SYS-4WEBMVP (without a hard drive). The VC-SYS is black and not silver. Also came with a USB mouse and the CPD does not. Comes with more power for SATA drive support as well. I contacted ussecuritysolutions and they responded within 30 minutes. I have not powered it up or tried it yet so I can't give it 5 stars. I am giving it 4 stars for prompt shipping and prompt response to email inquiry. The front of the unit has 2 USB ports. One is for the mouse leaving you an extra. It also ships with a CD but again I haven't had time to hook it all up and power on because I am still waiting for an IR CCTV camera and BNC cable. The unit also comes with a remote control and batteries as well as screws to mount a hard drive. Drive installation took me about 5 minutes and most of that was taking the screws out and putting them back in. There are a couple of user manuals but they appear to mostly focus on the networking/web setup and installation. Not sure if there is an actual guide on using the unit itself. Will update this review later. The VC-SYS-4WEBMVP can be seen here: YY-VC-SYS-4WEBMVP 4 channel DVR VGA-out, 1 SATA HDD bay, H264 build-in Server with Network Mouse ready without Hard Drive The ussecuritysolutions page for the model I received can be seen here and comes WITH a 500GB hard drive, mine did not: H.264 4-Channel Video audio Security Surveillance DVR Digital Video Recorder System Built-in 500GB HDD. |
