5.0 out of 5 stars Delivers everything as promised, February 9, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: CRAPS FOR LOW ROLLERS or high rollers (Kindle Edition)
Finally, a book that delivers everything as promised and that is "Craps For Low Rollers." I am grateful someone has taken the time to write a book for us casual players and not just for the "high rollers". No big promises, just sound strategy. I also enjoyed the touch of humor the author added to the game.

I play on a regular basis and by using the suggestions in the winning strategy chapters I find I am enjoying the game more and even winning. I love it when I beat the house. I have read several other books about craps but found I couldn't remember any of the betting systems they offered, there were just too many systems and most of them were confusing or don't work. I found this book to be the most direct, honest and helpful of any I have read. Mr. Long explains his reasons for each bet in a fashion I can understand. The color photos showing how the bets look on the table are also a big help.

Now, please write one to help me win at poker.

2.0 out of 5 stars This Book Could Have Been Better, February 6, 2011
This review is from: CRAPS FOR LOW ROLLERS or high rollers (Kindle Edition)
Ok, Put $22 inside (numbers 5,6,8,9), max of three rolls (ok to start on come out roll), now pull down your bets . Throw in the usual money management and discipline and you have the gist of this mundane book on craps. This is not a book to read if you want to learn how to play the game, but more of a couple of methods the author uses. I am not saying that they are bad, actually they are pretty good, but there are much better books on the game.
As a player, I enjoy books on this subject and have read only one real good one. This one falls into the mix of the so-so ones. After a brief intro about the game and some rules, the author details his strategy. What is frustrating is that he touches on other strategies, e.g. the dark side, and then states that he doesn't feel like talking about it. Saying that he will need several more chapters on how to hedge a don't pass bet, please, maybe a couple of pages at most. He does expand a little, with a variation of the $22 inside method by moving your $5 nine bet to the Field-sounds like the infamous Iron Cross to me. Take it a step further and cover every number with an additional 3 way seven bet.
I do give him credit by sticking to only a few safe methods and never promising any get rich quick schemes. Money management and discipline is stressed along with the temptation many craps players have to go `just one more roll'. But this book could have been much better with more information. As mentioned earlier, there is only one good book on craps, and that is by John Patrick. Check it out-you will know what I am talking about.
