Product Description

Crayola Crayon Maker can melt your favorite crayons down and re-form them into one-of-a-kind designer crayons. Simply place crayon bits into the melting tray, pour the melted wax into molds and let them harden into brand-new crayon combinations. The locking see-through dome lets you watch the process in complete safety -- from melting through molding. The melting tray is coated for easy clean-up. The dual-ended crayon holder eliminates the need for crayon wrappers. The Crayola Crayon Maker takes one clear 60-watt candelabra bulb. Crayola Crayon Maker!

Crayola Crayon Maker with Story Studio
Thought this would be cool fun for my kids but what a big disappointment. Firstly the timer switch kept getting stuck so had to turn it manually to get it going again (You try sitting there for 20 minutes kick starting the timer every minute). We made 3 batches of crayons and the kids were bored after the first batch. Only ½ actually came out Ok. If you pour too fast or too slow the top gets blocked and none will come out. Many crayons you get from family restaurants etc. are cheap and don't melt well and tend to bubble with a film on top which again blocks the top when you pour and they don't come out. Crayons didn't have colored swirls they just melted all together to form one color. Crayons are only ½ the length of normal crayons. Then there is the clean-up, after 2 times you definitely won't want to be doing it again. All in all, no matter how much they slash the price it's a big waste of money!

To be fair I thought I should make an additional comment. This machine does work if you use good quality crayons like Crayola. But, there is the rub, I want to recycle all the crayons we get from family restaurants, not use good ones. The rest of my comments still stand.
