5.0 out of 5 stars Simply amazing!
I listened to all the speakers al several computer stores yesterday and I conclude, hands down, that these speakers are the best- even compared with the top of the line models! They are so clear and crisp. I listened to several CD's and the sound came across clear, crisp, and with a very pleasant tone. From the lowest volume to top volume they never distorted! All the...

2.0 out of 5 stars too much clutter
These speakers are OK - the sound is fine. The annoying thing about them is that the volume control is a separate piece of equipment, like a small computer mouse that hooks into the subwoofer. It is very lightweight and flimsy, so every time you need to adjust the volume, it takes two hands - one to hold the thing down and the other to turn the nob. Really bad design. It...

5.0 out of 5 stars Simply amazing!, February 4, 2002

I listened to all the speakers al several computer stores yesterday and I conclude, hands down, that these speakers are the best- even compared with the top of the line models! They are so clear and crisp. I listened to several CD's and the sound came across clear, crisp, and with a very pleasant tone. From the lowest volume to top volume they never distorted! All the other speakers exhibited sounds of distortion, static, or vibration with a canny, cheap, tin-like sound. These were the ONLY speakers, out of the dozens I heard, that exhibited NO SIGNS of distortion or tonal hiccups. They sound so darn clear and equal in quality to our in home stereo system. Don't let the Creative Labs name fool you, these speakers are nothing like the other Creative lab speakers they sell (the ones with the smaller cubes). Somehow these were made extra well and exceed all the others by a long shot. Go to your nearest Circuit City and listen for yourself. You will surly be as amazed as I was! Even with the bass on the subwoofer turned off, the satallites sounded suburb, but in combination with the subwoofer they amaze and delight all the senses. Perhaps the perfect computer speakers at the perfect price. I love these speakers and they look mighty handsome too!

5.0 out of 5 stars Simply Amazing!!!!!!!!1, August 24, 2002
This review is from: CREATIVE LABS Inspire 2.1 Slim 2600 (Personal Computers)
I have been looking for the, "Perfect" computer speaker for months now. I just haven't found anything that blew me away for the price. I have heard Monsoon was great, but nowhere around here in Portland, OR sells them. I bid on some on eBay, but always got outbid. Finally, I just decided to take the plunge and purchase these from Creative Labs. I know the brand because I own an MP3 player from them and LOVE that item as well. I am amazed at the sound these project. I did not even come close to expecting the kind of sound these have. The speakers can be hung on the wall or stand straight up. There is a bass control and another convenient feature is the volume control is a remote so it can be on your desk and you do not have to reach down to the Subwoofer to turn the volume up or down. As far as I can tell, the best value around.

It also creates extra clutter on my desk with no added advantage.

I dont know much about speakers, so I went to the store to try and see how they sound. These speakers were the best that I heard. The sound is so clear and distinct, that I love to go home and just listen. The price isnt that high, and for the money they are the best around. I would recommend these to anyone who is interested in buying speakers.

3.0 out of 5 stars Everything good except volume control, February 9, 2004
This review is from: CREATIVE LABS Inspire 2.1 Slim 2600 (Personal Computers)
I bought my speakers 5-6 months back. Theie slim model look nice. Sound quality is also very good and I have loved listening music on my computers with these speakers!
A serious problem with speakers is the volume control pad. Volume control is done by rotating a circular disc. After couple of months, this disc is not working well now. You put the volume control at a particular position, but the volume keeps going UP AND DOWN (i.e. fluctuations) by itself. Sometimes these "automatic" ups and downs are so loud that you get really annoyed! I cannot enjoy listening smoothly on these speakers anymore.

These are probably the best speakers I've ever had. The sound is really crisp. Totally worth the price.

Very, very impressed. This speaker system is the best for the $$$. But what else can you expect from Ceative, quallity at a nice price. Easy to setup and sound 100% better than the Logitech Z340 system I considered purchasing.

2.0 out of 5 stars Do Not Stand the Test of Time, July 15, 2007
This review is from: CREATIVE LABS Inspire 2.1 Slim 2600 (Personal Computers)
When I first purchased these at J&R, they seemed the best "bang for the buck." Crisp highs sold me despite the somewhat overpowering sub. Over time, I have gone from enjoying these speakers to not understanding why I ever purchased them. I'm not an audiophile, but even on my computer I'd like to hear what the musicians played. How nice to hear an ocassional midrange and a subwoofer that isn't just built for solid booms . Digital music is compressed enough; subpar speakers only make it worse. Is it possible they have decayed? I seem to recall hearing something better that day at J&R -- and later at home. Perhaps I was hearing a better set of speakers. I cannot wait to replace these.

1.0 out of 5 stars Good for the first time, and then . . ., December 11, 2004
This review is from: CREATIVE LABS Inspire 2.1 Slim 2600 (Personal Computers)
I've had these for some time now. Initially, they were good, but then after awhile, I noticed that I've only been hearing sound coming from just one of the speakers. I thought it was one of the speakers, but I switched their connection on the subwoofer. It turns out it's the subwoofer. There is something wrong with the port for the left speaker since nothing comes out. I even used my sister's speaker and plugged it in this port, and still nothing comes out.

5.0 out of 5 stars Don't waste your time looking any further, November 24, 2003
This review is from: CREATIVE LABS Inspire 2.1 Slim 2600 (Personal Computers)
Had these for a year and listen to them 6 to 8 hours a day. Put them on my list for Santa in 2002 after doing several hours of online research. They provide background music from an online service as I code all day. I'm constantly amazed at the fullness of the sound, and the separation is great. I wouldn't try to fill a concert hall with them, but even when they are cranked, the sound is pretty good with none of that annoying vibration sound you hear from many small speakers. (Right now I'm listening to some Zeppelin at high volume. The subwoofer is shaking the table, but the sound is great.) I'm guessing you could spend twice as much and not get any better sound quality. I work on a small table and the main speakers take up very little space. Looks like it would take about 5 minutes to mount them on the wall if needed. And don't worry about the separate volume control; set it once and use the volume control on your computer.
