If this is the right size for your door glass, especially if you are replacing a worn-out wipe of the same type, installation is a breeze -- basically it's a friction mount.Be prepared to cut the item to length, which is not easy unless you have a powerful clipper (say, a tree pruner or bolt cutter). Any mistake could lead to injury. And be sure to round off the resulting sharp corners after you cut. Nicely made, and quite decent looking. No instructions of any kind (how to cut, how to measure, how to install, how to de-sharpen) were included.

Very happy with this item, couldn't find it at any local or big box stores. My installation attempts. As a test I tried cutting the rail with a razor blade, then a pair of snippers (left rail longer then I needed in case I screwed up). Wasn't very easy. The next thing I tried worked great. Installed rail on bottom of door and lined up one end of the rail at the hinge side. The excess hung into the bathroom on the handle side. I used a fine tooth coping saw and held the saw blade against the handle side edge of the door as a guide. I slowly cut along the edge while holding the rail against the bottom of the door for support. Fit perfectly and was alot easier than the blade and snippers.

This drip rail worked wonders for my glass shower. Fit my 3/8" glass like a glove. What really made the difference for me was when I also put it on the wall side. Yes, this solution is not just for the bottom, but can be put on the sides as well. The rigid sides with the flexable fins make for very versital applications.Nothing getting out of my shower now. Solid product, even when the box it is shipped in was totally destroyed when I got it.

We weren't sure what to do with our shower door problem but the drip rail solved it. Ordered to exact door thickness and we cut to proper length. Very happy!

Was able to fix a leak in my shower in 10 minutes. You do have to saw the thing to fit your shower, but I can only imagine what this would have cost to have a plumber do this work. I was happy to do it myself and the product is solid.

Fit just right. I had to cut it to length but it attached securely to the glass door. Sweep works great.

I could not find this thing in at home depot or at lowes so I ordered it here. All I did was measure my shower door thickness and this fit perfectly. The length was a bit long, however, a dremel tool with cutting attachment took care of that pretty quickly. I saw some people had trouble cutting it, but if you have the right tool, its not that bad. Have not used the shower with it installed yet, so will update after. Also, you need a rubber mallet to install, so be sure you have that around. Don't use a real hammer, you might break your door.

I ordered this to replace an existing wipe blade rail which was damaged due to normal wear and tear. This was very hard to find until I saw it here on Amazon. I measured the old wipe to be sure of its dimensions before ordering. It arrived on time as advertised and the packaging was excellent, way beyond my expectations. Installation was simple and easy since it mounts by insertion. I installed the rail on the bottom of the door and lined up one end of the rail at the hinge side. The excess hung on the door's handle side. I used a small and fine hack saw and held the saw blade against the handle side edge of the door as a guide. I slowly cut along the edge while holding the rail against the bottom of the door for support. After cutting, I rounded off the sharp corners with a small file. Overall, the price, delivery time and overall quality of the item was excellent and I would recommend this product from Showerdoordirect, LLC 100%.

I had the sweep on my Shower door professionally replaced and the guy used a single sweep model instead of this double extruded (double sweep) model. Paid 130 bucks for that and ever since the hinges of the door won't center. So the door is always slightly ajar if you get my meaning. Not cool. This new dual sweep version made that a thing of the past. It now centers perfectly again and makes a perfect seal on the door. Couldn't be happier and installation was a breeze.

I can't say how effective this item is compared to other shower door rails. This item was simply to replace the same item that got caught and broke. The item came as promised and appears to be of good quality material. As others have stated, it holds onto the bottom of the door with a friction method--no additional adhesive was needed. It holds on VERY strong and took a little muscle to push it onto the door. But, I'd rather have a tight snug then too loose. My ordered piece did require some cutting, but I simply measured the previous piece and cut this one with a simple hack-saw which took just a few minutes.Overall, the price, delivery time and overall quality of the item was excellent and I would purchase this again if needed. I thought the shipping charges (with all the vendors of this item) seemed really expensive. So, I decided to combine this item with a couple other things I purchased over 25.00 and saved on shipping with Amazon. And by the way--I previously looked everywhere for a similar shower door item and couldn't find it at ANY local hardware store--so thanks to Amazon for carrying this item for me! |
