Real Simple Magazine Rated this in the top 3 out of 12 cookers they tested (January 2008). I don't actually own it, but I've been spending months reviewing cookers and I'm tired of looking and reading reviews, so this is the one I'm going to buy. "The timers on most cookers start at four hours, leaving you to set a separate timer for quick recipes, like cakes. This one starts at 30 minutes." Other top cookers were the expensive Cuisinart 6.5 Qt at $100 and the All-Clad 6.5 qt. slow cooker with ceramic insert at $150.

It has been a long time since I used a crock pot and decided to give one another try. This is great: easy to use, attractive for serving company and so easy to clean. A "keeper"!

We have found this product to be of high quality both in it's construction and it's performance. We would highly reciommend it to
anyone needing such an ppliance.

So far, I've only used the crockpot twice because I've been away from home most of the time in the past few weeks. It's worked well both times. The controls are easy to use and the oval shape was more convenient for a pot-roast. I like the automatic warming features that allows the food to stay warm without overcooking. Often, I use a crockpot so I can be flexible about the time for serving a meal.

My 20 year-old-crock pot cracked. I read the reviews of this crock pot, and with trepidation, ordered it. I do not find it hot to touch. It does a fine job of preparing soups, stews and roasts. It is so comforting to come home from teaching and have the house filled with a homey aroma; dinner is either keeping warm or finishing its cooking time. I'm glad I bought this.

This is a beautiful and serviceable appliance. However, the second time I used it the hinge on the lid broke off. Instead of returning the pot I removed the hardware and now have two vent holes in the glass lid.

We bought this and use it all the time. It cleans up very easily. IT' also pretty!

First the High heat setting broke, and cooked with less heat than the low setting, then the entire thing just stopped working entirely, in under 6 months. Considering that I only used it about 4 times since I purchased it, it is really unacceptable for it to break like it did under such light usage. Also, the lid handle was forever slipping and looked like it was going to come off completely. I always worried about that since the top is glass and could break easily if dropped. Rival should be very ashamed to have their name on this product.

I purchased this item because it was rated highly by several independent reviewers and I liked the feature that allows the cooking time to be chosen in increments of 30 minutes. But when I initially plugged in the slow cooker, it smelled like burning electrical wires. My husband assured me that it was just the typical "new item" smell and not to worry. I did notice a bit of smoke coming from the electrical panel area and it seemed to me that the outside of the slow cooker was hotter than it should have been (very warm to the touch). But it seemed to cook the first meal okay so I thought that must just be the way it was. When I plugged it in today (second day of owning it), the electrical panel lights flashed, but it wouldn't allow me to select a heat setting or time. Basically, it was fried. I am sending this back for a refund and will be looking for a different slow cooker instead.

I've only cooked in this thing once, but everyone loved it! It was easy to use, easy to clean, easy to store leftovers. It was a good size to feed 5 people, and it kept the food warm until we all got home (for about an hour) and filled my apartment with amazing smells!! Happy to use it again. If anything goes wrong, I will be sure to come back and re-rate this product.
