This is the most used cookbook in my collection. I received my first copy when I was first out of college, and needed help on how to properly cook meat. Now, 25 years later, I'm vegetarian, with vegetarian and vegan children. We all use this book far more than any other. We've adapted the muffin and nut bread recipes so we don't have to use eggs or dairy, I love the toffee, we use the gingerbread recipe to make a gingerbread house every Christmas. The copy I have is falling apart, the binding is shot, but when I bought the updated version, I found they had none of our favorites in their original form. The new banana bread recipe calls for buttermilk! I always figure if you use more than 3 recipes from a cookbook, it's worth the money. This was well worth the money!

My mother was a gourmet cook, but never allowed me in the kitchen. When I went away to college, my mother handed me this cookbook and said "Good Luck". That was 32 years ago. I'm now the gourmet cook, and I still use this cookbook more than any of the 50+ cookbooks that I have.

The purchase of this cookbook was simple and easy. No hassels or problems with shipping. I like this book so much that I purchased this second copy so that I can now have one at my home in Albany and one in my home in South Carolina.

The cookbook was in excellent condition, no torn pages or markings in the book and the binding is still great. This will make a perfect gift for our daughter.
