This is a large aluminum notebook cooler. Individual fit will of-course wary, but the cooler holds a Sony AR790U, for example, ok, with room to spare. I think this item should be fine for most contemporary large multimedia notebooks.

The fans on the cooler are quieter than I expected, and there is an adjustment wheel, presumably to adjust the fans' speed. The fans are powered from a DC port; the cooler comes with a cable to hook-up the DC port to a USB port (a regular USB cable is also included).

The item is equipped with a built-in USB hub and is foldable lengthwise.

The box that I got did not include a users manual or any kind of instructions besides what's written outside the box. It would be nice to know about different options the manufacturer recommends for powering the cooler. Other than that I think everything is top notch; this is a very good product.

This is a really good product. I got it for my husbands 17 inch laptop and it fits it perfectly. It runs very quetly. And you can use either the dc connection of the USB connection. Using the USB to USB connection allows you to use the cooler as a USB hub as well. Besides being very useful it looks really cool.

It's a good lap top cooler. Probably the most powerful one you can find. But my MacBook Pro had trouble powering it. At least there is a DC adapter outlet built into the Cryo LX. It's obviously built for the gamer. It's big and moves a lot of air, but it's meant to be kept on the desk, especially if your plugging it into a wall outlet instead of your USB ports.

After buying several of these laptop coolers, this one, the nzxt acc-ct-cryo-lx 120mm fans, is by far the best out there at this moment.

I have a brand new 17inch Macbook Pro that overheats when I play Battlefield 2142, then the game crashes. I went through and tried every software update possible, then I even tried changing some hardware with no luck. So, I replaced all of the original hardware, and started buying laptop coolers realizing an actual difference and I could play a little longer.

I finally bought this nzxt laptop cooler and saw the greatest difference in temperature of my macbook pro while I was playing Battlefield 2142, in comparison to all the other laptop coolers that I bought.

In order to power the fans on the cooler, you can just plug it into your laptop using the provided USB cable, or you can plug it into a wall outlet with the adapter that is provided. However, the manufacturer does NOT recommend that you use only the USB cable to power the fans, because it could draw too much power through the USB plug on your laptop that it can burn and damage it, especially if you leave it plugged into the USB for a while, when its only being powered by the USB cable. So, you just have to make sure you can plug into a wall outlet in order to power the fans, or it can be used just as well without the fans for convection cooling.

This cooler also provides an ergonomic adjustment so that you can type comfortably without wrist pain, as the rear of the laptop will sit 2 inches higher than if you were to use the laptop with out this. Which also means that the laptop screen sits higher up so that it is more level with your eyes, reducing neck strain.

Now that I have 3 other laptop coolers, I thought to use one of those laptop coolers in conjunction with the nzxt cooler that I just bought and it works even better now.

Now, under the nzxt cooler, I'm using the ILap 17 inch laptop stand by Rain. On top of the laptop stand is the nzxt cooler, which not only raises my laptop another 2 inches, but the nzxt cooler is sucking cold air off of the top of the aluminum surface of the laptop stand, and the air is then sent up and against the bottom of my laptop. Now I've got the laptop running 2 more degrees colder than if the cooler was just by itself!!!

I also attached 4, 1 cm tall, rubber feet with adhesive, to the surface of the nzxt cooler to add space between my laptop and the cooler and to keep the laptop from slipping on the hard rubber surface of the nzxt cooler. And now I've noticed a half degree cooler and more circulation.

THE ONLY PROBLEM, is the edges are SHARP! So, I found if I used duct tape on the edges, that took care of the problem when I had it in my lap.

VERY QUIET operation even when the fan speed is adjusted to the highest setting. I just wish I could increase the speed of the fans for some INSANE air intake.

I have a 17" widescreen Alienware laptop which anyone that knows about Alienware they get extremely overheated especially playing video games. Finding a cooler for 17" widescreen laptops is actually hard within itself, but to find one that does terrific cooling I thought would be impossible. I got this and hooked it up... totally utilizing all of the extra USB ports which rocks. My laptop runs soooo much cooler now and my video card doesn't start to overheat anyone while playing games and start to have pixel distortion. I do not use the laptop keyboard, but if I were the angle of this cooler is great for typing. This is a must have if you have a gaming laptop....

Folks, This is just what the doctor ordered when it comes to cooling your laptop and also adding USB ports to your system. It does have the ability to just power the fans. However, I use it to have the additional USB Hub too.

I love this unit. It literally drops the CPU temperature 15 degree Centigrade and keeps the CPU cooler as long as it is allowed to run.

I have a CPU Fan Monitor Program that gets the CPU temps from the CPU itself and am able to monitor the temps closely. This Three Fan Unit Does the Job VERY WELL.

If you need to cool your Laptop and you are working at a Desk. This is the Unit to have.

Make sure you keep the unit on the desk and away from the edges. The corners are places to avoid. But other than that it is the unit to have to cool a laptop.

I have two. One here and one I sent to my Wife in China. She has a Lenovo that HAD a CPU Heat issue and the Laptop would shutdown by itself because it was over heated. No longer. The unit stays cool and runs for hours on end.

Like I said. This is the Cooling Fan unit to have. Spend the money as it is very durable and does the job very well.

I have an XPS M1730 which runs extremely hot. It is heavily used for graphics intensive applications and would randomly shut down. After purchasing the cooler I have not had any other problems with the machine. The cooler itself is big enough for this large laptop and works very well. The fan speeds are adjustable and when connected to the laptop it provides extra USB ports. The only thing I do not like about the cooler is that it must be unplugged to turn it off. I don't find that to be a big deal but I do wonder how the manufacturer missed a power button :)

It works as advertised and the 1730 is staying much cooler. I would recommend for any of the larger gaming type laptops.

I Bought both this one and Zalman 3000U becuase i coudnt choose, i decided that the cryo cooler is better and sent the zalman packing, both were very quit, zalman was slightly quiter. but cooling wise cryo was cooler, cryo is better for traveling becuase it folds where as the zalman is huge. cryo is all metal as where the zalman still has plastic housings, the pitch on the fan blades cryo has a much bigger pitch where i believe produces more air flow,

Very quiet, very good it is priced higher then other ones but its worth it cause its still running as if I just bought it. I am using it in afghanistan it stays on high it fits 15.6 well, you could actually put a 17 inch on it so it is big. Just don't expect to carry it around its a stay on the desk or whatever type of cooler.

This laptop cooler is what you want, forget the cheap ones as this is sturdy, very quiet and powerful. The only thing I would have liked to have seen on it is an on and off button which it does not have. You have to plug and unplug when using. GREAT FOR ALIENWARE !
