This game is based on the popular original CSI show, the actors from the cast provide the voices. The premise is to solve a series of crimes along with the CSI team. Clues are located by sliding over the crime scene then using the appropriate method to interpret the evidence. Witnesses and suspects are questioned using prompts provided, the answers are added to the physical evidence and used to obtain warrents and ultimately solve the crimes.
The graphics are well done, the plot lines are interesting and the game runs quite well, without the hangups or crashes I have experienced with some other Mac platform games. So why only 4 stars? It is possible to locate clues simply by rolling over the scene until the clue reveals itself, wrong choices of tools are met with only a prompt as are other wrong guesses, which 'dumbs down' the experience. The game can be solved by persistence, intelligence only makes the process smoother and quicker. The biggest problem, however, is that once the game is solved it is done a problem with all games of this puzzle genre. Unlike the more complicated MYST or Seventh Guest games this one is not sophisticated enough to make going back over solved puzzles to enjoy the experience or challenging enough to make this a long term project. Still it is a fun game, a good way to spend a few hours. If the more difficult puzzle games have frustrated you or you are new to this type of game, then this one is perfect for you. If you are a fan of the CSI series this is a good way to spend sometimes between episodes but if you are a serious puzzle gamer and looking for a real challenge this one is not for you.

not enough content, too short.,

I finished the game in 1 evening! I installed it and completed all 5 crime scene investigations in less than 8 hours. There is little thinking required.
All the clues have to be found by rolling the mouse over the screen and waiting for the arrow to become green. You cannot zoom on things that are not important. All the clues are put together for you, the questions you must ask are written on the screen and you can never take the wrong detection/collection tool, or go the wrong way or saying the wrong thing to the wrong person. If you want to PLAY a game, Dont waste your money on CSI. If you want to pay 20$ for 5 episodes of CSI tv show in which the characters talk to you while you sit confortably on your couch, then you might enjoy this. Some nice twists in the story line, graphics are good, user-friendly.

CSI: PowerMac Only,

Like Indiana Jones and the Emperors Tomb by Aspyr, CSI is also an older game intended for the Powermac platform. It gets stuck in play and has no pause or escape process, in fact, I had to power off the computer to shut it down. Having forensic military training and several years skip tracing experience I find the game plan relatively limited. I have questions that the game does not anticipate. Also, instructions on how to play or strategies are absent. Or maybe my iMac cannot access them.

This is the first game I've ever bought for my computer. I'm enjoying the distraction but I find the crime scenes restricted. You are only allowed to look at things when the pointer turns green so all you have to do is run the pointer up and down the screen until it turns green to find any evidence that needs to be found. So there is not a chance that you will miss something. When you are trying to retrieve evidence and use the wrong item, the game tells you instead of destroying the evidence. I guess what I'm trying to say is that you are spoon fed everything and there is not much challenge. My 14 year old, on the other hand, does find the game a challenge and enjoys playing.

This game is really fun and great for fans of the show, especially since it has real voices from the show. The graphics are good and the music feels authentic. However, cases can take less than 2 hours to complete, so do not rush through this game!

As a frequent watcher of the TV series I am well acquainted with the characters and methods of accumulating evidence, so the games were quite authentic and fun to solve. Thus far have only had time to solve three of the games. Was surprised at the time it took to get through a game and takes a number of hours. Well worth the time and money.

I spent maybe two or three days playing this game before I finished it. Too easy for my taste but it was fun while it lasted!

The graphics for this game are top-notch (considering the system requirements) the gameplay is fun and exciting and the personifications of the CSI members are almost perfect.
