4.0 out of 5 stars Good but repetive
CSI Hard Evidence is a good game the only problem is that it's a little too repetive. It feels like an expansion pack, with some new features and cases, for CSI 3 dimensions of murder. Someone said you have to have at least a 2ghz processor to play the game, but that's untrue because I'm running it with a 1.7something ghz processor. My final though is, get this game if...

3.0 out of 5 stars The best out yet
One reviewer said that your computer needs to have certain modern functions, like 2 gig processor speed and a lot of RAM. That is true, and luckily I have one that fits the bill. The PC version is indeed a DVD rom, unlike the previous versions, so yes it takes more to run this baby. That being said, I will say that this is the best CSI game yet!

These cases, which are not even all solved yet, have many challenges. My wife and I alternate cases, and have a tough time getting a 100% master rating on all of them. I think only case 3 got me that honor.

New twists abound here as well. In the previous game, 3 Dimensions of Murder, it was frustrating to click on a possible area of evidence only to have your case mentor say there's nothing to find there, and it was frustrating when we were searching for the one little evidence piece to move us forward. In THIS game, you get points for being thorough even in the non-evidence-laden areas. PLUS, there are areas with bugs crawling around. Grab these for bug-loving boss Grissom for some extra kiss-up points. If there's a piano in the room, you can play a ditty and your mentor will compliment you. Useless in case-solving, but it makes the game all the more fun.

So, if your computer is up to 2007 standards (I bought mine in early 2007, so it is most likely 2006-friendly, LOL), I highly recommend it. You will pull your hair out at times, but the payoff when you link the evidence together is sweet. Seeing DNA matches, fingerprint matches, assembling broken vases, comparing fabrics under the microscope, and analyzing substances is all part of the fun.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great fun, November 30, 2007

On a quiet evening, working on a case can easily consume 3 or 4 hours of your time. Long live Murder Mysteries, great graphics, but you'll need some RAM or it can jam a computer up. Easily betters the Law and Order games out there.

3.0 out of 5 stars CSI Not Changed Much Over The Years, October 1, 2009

I have all but one or two of the CSI and Law & Order games (not the same software companies). I have collected them and replay them sometimes when I have the time. The player interface has changed quite a bit over the years, but the actual games, not so much.

There are always five cases, and the fifth always ties into the first four in some way. That's the formula. It would be a real surprise if they ever did that differently. The graphics have somewhat improved since the beginning, but the character graphics for the most part are the same. It is as if they drew the characters one way in the beginning, and even though in most cases, they did not look much like the TV characters, they decided, they had better not improve them, for consistency sake.

The CSI tools have gotten better and more sophisticated as the years have gone by, but unfortunately the story lines have not. Playing this game, it almost seemed like they made it easier than previous games I had played. It took me about 6 hours to do the whole game. It was not a huge challenge. As per usual, the bonus materials they give you a chance to look at for getting a good game score are not really worth worrying about. In this case, they play the same or near same game promos as bonus materials for each game end.

When these games first come out, they are way overpriced. I wait until they have been out for 6 months to a year, and I can get them much cheaper. Just a tip there.

I think other reviewers have said, and I would have to agree, that if you collect, or are a big fan of the TV show, you will probably like this game. Otherwise, maybe not so much.

This video game is the best! Keeps you guessing. I even got the kids and their friends in on it. The only problem I have with this game is the sound quality. The sound was awful. I uninstalled it and reinstalled it and that didn't help. So I give the game a 10. If the sound quality was good, I'd give it a 15! The characters look just like the ones on the show. very realistic.

Like all the other CSI games, it was detailed and challenging. The graphics were astounding and gameplay was smooth. Can't wait for the next one.

You have to buy this game!!! I absolutely loved it. It is so much more up to date and the graphics are great. It has 5 cases and I have to say they are not easy either. It took me about a week to play this game, and I did have to go to a website for some hints on what to do next. I guarantee that if you buy this game you will love it. You have more to do in this game than just finding evidence. You have to find the evidence on the evidence and sometimes go back to the crime scene and reconstruct things. One new cool thing is using lasers to find out where gunshots came from...awesome!

4.0 out of 5 stars Worth the money, November 2, 2007

I have played all the CSI games, and this one was definitely easier to navigate than the last. It was almost too easy to play, which was a little sad. It also was just not LONG ENOUGH. It only took a few days to get all the way through. I would recommend it to the not too serious gamers as a hit.

CSI games are fun and challenging and if you get stuck at some point it is easy to find a hint online which I had to do once in awhile. I story lines of the episodes are all good and I had a lot of fun solving them. I have about 10 CSI game DVDs and this one is just like the rest, Great. The price is cheap and it will give someone hours of fun.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great game -- very involved!, May 10, 2011
= Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: CSI Hard Evidence (DVD-ROM)
I really enjoy these CSI games -- and the fact that there are 5 cases per game that are each pretty long. It's kind of like 5 games in one. The only problem I have with it is that you cannot skip over a case, you can only reach the next case once you complete the previous one, and in this particular pack there was one case that was kind of boring (thus the 4 stars instead of 5). But the graphics are really good and I love how involved it is without being cheesy (i.e. no little mini-game in order to open a chest, etc.). Not for kids -- this one especially -- definitely has sexual content, and (naturally) shows violence/murder situations. Hints are available if you get stuck... Overall, I would definitely recommend these games to anyone who likes detective role-playing and adventure games.
