Editorial Reviews

Join lead criminalist Horatio Caine (David Caruso) and his state-of-the-art forensics team as they investigate hot and steamy Miami crimes using cold hard facts. The evidence leads into seedy nightclubs, privileged suburbs and explosive family secrets. The stakes are higher than ever before, because this time it's personal.

I love CSI Miami great show
but disappointed that cbs is only letting the show create 19 episodes
it should be a full season here is the info
On May 18, 2011, CBS renewed the series for a tenth season. The tenth season premiered in the United States on September 25, 2011.

On February 1, 2012, it was announced that CSI: Miami's tenth season would end after nineteen episodes, to make room for the debut of NYC 22.
why they couldn't wait for after CSI to finish airing
then air the shows of NYC 22

I absolutely love cSI Miami! I have not missed an episode yet. I really hope season 10 isn't the last season like rumors are saying. Just when a show is getting even better they go and take it away. Anyway I have all season on DVD I cannot wait to own this on DVD as well!

Another solid season for Miami. Caruso is his same, almost cartoonish, self as Horatio - but, let's face it, he's what makes this show so enjoyable. It doesn't take itself too seriously and either does he. The only thing that could improve it is to bring back Tim Speedle! His character was the best! The only problem with this season is that it has been cut short and will be finishing after 19 episodes instead of the usual 24. I hope this doesn't signal the end for this show and I also hope that the reduced season means that the DVD season will be released sooner than the usual September release date (and a reduced price tag to compensate for the fewer episodes would be handy too!). Roll on season 11.

The final season of CSI Miami is darker and drearier than previous seasons. I'm not sure why they went this direction, as I personally always enjoyed the almost humorous tone to some of the shows. This time around, Horatio is still the changed man, willing to beat up prisoners or let them fall to their death. I found that particularly telling, as I remember an early season where he scrambles to save a child molester/murderer so he can stand trial. This time around, he watches the child creep fall to his death. A new Horatio (as of last season). I don't mind that, but the shows weren't particularly interesting or well done.

This is in my view the best "C.S.I." show, beautifully shot, & the most entertaining, I still can't believe this one is no longer being produced, yet the original "Vegas" one (which has overstayed its welcome) is still on, one reason I believe is that the cast wanted more money, unlike "Vegas", this one still retained most of it's cast members, however, this one I think ended on a good note, however Haratio never got Sarius (Kim Coates), a despicable villian from previous seasons, which was a disappointment, this one does give us a more human side to Calleigh Ducane (Emily Proctor) whose maternal instincts kick in as she seeks to adopt two children but worries about the demands of her career as a police officer, all in all a good final season, this one only got better with time.

The cancellation of CSI Miami was inexplicable. The show has been getting better with each season unlike its counterparts, CSI: Las Vegas and CSI: New York which have become unbearable to watch. If anything, CSI: LV deserved the axe as it has become the palest shadow of its former self. But this is not the first time a bad decision has been made and sadly will not be the last.

I found this final season a somewhat disappointing one. I like to conclude a series (or movie) with either happy or upbeat endings. This ending
was mixed. Caine seems to be getting angrier at times at suspects up to a point of roughing up people that is quite illegal. Not that some of these
people don't deserve it, but he is so precise in expecting his underlings (except Delko, for whom he covered up ) to be squeaky clean. He allowed
a thug to fall to his death from a balcony, though the guy was a complete creep, He still is supposed to have his day in court. Yet Caine still comes
off as a good man, very sensitive toward victims and their families and that I like. But if Miami police are all like what is portrayed in this TV drama,
I doubt I would want to visit, much less live in Miami.
Again, those who read my reviews know I do not like Delko; he visited prostitutes, bought drugs from street criminals and yet shakes up people
who did much the same things. I was especially annoyed the way he "stalked" Kelly and stared lustfully at her while she was with another guy.
I was not really much of a Kelly guy but I was sorry to see her start going with him. In this episode she tells him she loves him (not very
believably I might add) but decides to adopt two children instead of having his kids...interesting! Or weird, but then this is Miami!
The guys I did like on the show was Caine (with reservations), Walter, Ryan Wolfe (my favorite) and several of the ladies in the Lab. Sadly
the woman he loved turned out to not be so nice (made me angry). If anyone deserved a good woman it was he (Walter too).
The stories and episodes are excellently produced, with good photography and impressive scenery.

...CSI Miami, to me, always had an edge on the other two CSI shows. It was a little more police story-like instead of being too heavy on the lab work. The shows were more character driven and let the viewer know more about their lives, and some storyline lines actually evolved from their history. The scope of the show was larger and the stories more interesting. The original CSI died when William Petersen left it, and CSI NY is good but a weaker version of Miami. ...So what do the suits do? Schedule the show on Sundays nights so the football overruns can put a stake through its heart with viewers who never got to see shows or just partial episodes. At 10pm it was sacrificed because 60 Minutes, Survivor ( why is this crap even on tv?)and the Good Wife were on early enough to still be seen before America went to sleep. ..The show's quality was still there and not diminished. Why was it cancelled and not put back to a more reasonable spot on CBS's schedule? ..And still keep the other two on? Especially the tired Vegas version? Nice going suits!!Bloodspiller: Book One: Warriors of Palahia Series

Why is TV on DVD picture quality getting worse?
Funny you should post this -- I just returned the Season 10 DVD I bought "new" to the Amazon vendor who sold it to me for that very reason. I thought the picture quality was horrible and assumed I got some sort of bad bootleg and not a new copy. I was going to reorder it from... Read More
