5.0 out of 5 stars Understanding batteries
Michael Bates' review is in error. All true rechargeable batteries are 1.2 volts so this charger is operating at the correct specifications. Non-rechargeable batteries are 1.5 volts.

1.0 out of 5 stars Do Not Buy This Charger Without Reading This First!!!!!!
I wish that I could review how well this charger works, but unfortunately I can't. The reason is because it was dead on arrival. I essentially bought a $20.00 (with eek technology's outrageous shipping) brick. It never worked, ever, and shipping it back to exchange would cost more than a new unit! At least I have the 4 batteries it came with, so it isn't a total loss...

5.0 out of 5 stars Can't really ask for more, July 29, 2006

The product comes with 4 AAA batteries which seem to work fine. The charger itself has four places where you can charge either AAA or AA batteries. I haven't measured the time it takes to charge, but 1hour seems about right (according to what they claim). There are two LEDs which change from red (charging) to green (finished).

The charger is small enough to take with you if you want, or to store away unobtrusively in a drawer. The plug folds into the charger when not in use and is approximately the size of a cigarette pack (a little bigger actually).

I've been using this for about 2 months without any problems.

We bought 2 of these battery packs for our kids MP3 players. It has saved us from spending a fortune on batteries since they can go through a single battery in about two days. These batteries seem to be keeping a charge of at least 70% of a disposable, and since they have four batteries they have plenty of back-ups.

My only complaint was that when we ordered the batteries we got one, but not the second. I emailed the company to let them know and to please send a second one. They did not reply for 5 days. They did send the second battery pack withouth further question. It just would have been nice to get some response that I had at least sent the email to the right place.

I really like this battery charger. It is very easy to operate and charges batteries in about 1 hour. I leave them in the unit for at least anothr 1/2 hour to make sure they are fully charged. I like the fact that it comes with 4 rechargeable batteries at a very affordable price.

4.0 out of 5 stars Pretty good, I guess?, February 22, 2008
This review is from: CTA Digital AAA NiMH 4-pk Batteries w/charger ( DC-1AAA ) (Electronics)
Its hard for me to compare these batteries with anything else simply by the fact that A) they are the only rechargeable batteries I have used and B) I don't really know what to expect from rechargeable batteries for the applications I am using. Currently these batteries are in my wireless mouse and keyboard and have only been recharged probably twice in the past 4 months or so. They meet my needs so I would recommend.

One thing I like about the recharger is that the plug for the wall is collapsible/self contained in the unit. This makes it easy to just fold the plugs and store it somewhere in my desk. Not sure how this compares to other products, but I imagine that they are essentially the same things: products of China under different, more expensive brand names. Kind of like how your a sucker if you buy Advil instead of Ibuprofen.

This charger works fine - and is great for cameras which use a lot of battery power.

1.0 out of 5 stars you're not going to save any money with this, February 24, 2007
This review is from: CTA Digital AAA NiMH 4-pk Batteries w/charger ( DC-1AAA ) (Electronics)
they arrived on time and after that everything went downhill. The batteries charged lasted atleast five hours, so no complaints there, but the charger would keep coming out from the wall. It only seemed to work if it was all the way in and it wouldn't stay all the way in, I tried several outlets, finally after a whole two months it no longer worked at all.

1.0 out of 5 stars incompatible with my mp3 player, February 6, 2007

I bought this recharger kit specifically for a Sandisk m230 mp3 player. When I first received the kit, I charged all of the batteries. Upon first use I only got 7min. out of each battery, when I got 20 hrs. from the batter sent with the player. I learned online that the batteries still have their charge, but due to the battery's "memory effect" or "voltage depression," my player thinks the batteries have lost their charge after only 7min.

If you are buying batteries for an electronic device that detects how much "juice" is left in a battery, do not buy this kit.

POOR quality unit. Worked sometimes, sometimes not. Gave up and returned it after a couple of weeks of trying it out.
