Let me get straight to the point, this device works as advertised. Combine that with the very low price (1/4 the price of the Sony model) and it is a no brainer when deciding whether or not to purchase this. You will be extremely happy you picked one up.

The fact that it comes with the Western Europe adapter was a great bonus for me since I bought it right before heading over to Europe. It worked great.

After reading the other reviews, I ordered the CTA MR-BG1 charger. The other reviews were right !!! This charger works like a champ. If you are thinking about one of the more expensive chargers (I know I was), save your money. This little guy is fast and easy to use. Give it a shot !!!

This is way cheaper than the sony branded charger. It does the same job. I forgot mine in the hotel one time and I did not want to pay over $50 for the sony one. This saved me money and I used that to get another battery instead.

nice for the price. works as well as the lost sony charger and the 3.99 overnight shipping was great and arrived on time. highly recommend this charger to anyone looking for a replacement charger.

I lost my original charger when I moved down to Florida so I basically had a useless camera. The official replacement from Sony is around 50 dollars I believe so I decided to buy this one for much less. It does exactly what the other charger does, it's smaller and it has an adapter for European countries. It's really a no-brainer, if you need a charger for sony cameras look no further, buy this.

While this may be a non OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) brand, I put my faith in its claim of compatibility and I must say, It has not failed in delivering anything short of excellence. If value is your motive, then look no further. This is a perfect replacement for the $50.00 Sony OEM charger. It even works in a 12v car adapter, for on-the-go power. I would purchase another without hesitation.

The CTA MR-BG-1 Mini Battery Charger Kit for the Sony NP-BG1 Battery is reasonably priced and functions - if you can figure out how to put the battery into it. The instructions say to insert the battery with the contacts to the bottom. When done with the Battery front label facing the user (intuitive), everything clicks in just fine - but the battery does not charge! When I contacted the vendor to exchange a 'defective item' I was called and e-mailed to turn the batter around so the back (with the fine print) was visible and the lable was turned inward. The batter fits fine and charges. So - once the undocumented quirk is known - this is a fine device. More importantly, the vendor selected for this purchase (TheMemStore) provided excellent and prompt customer service!

the value of this product exceed all my expectations, I think anybody looking to purchase from this vendor should not be afraid because the quality of the service is really great. Excellent choice when looking to save money and keep high quality. I would defenitely will be more than happy to do bussiness with them again in the future. I'm very happy with my purchase.

I like this product, because it is good and I didn't have to pay a lot for it. It does what is supposed to do and is reliable.

This simple product gets 5 stars because it works as advertised, it is a fraction of the cost of the Sony brand charger, and it has the additional feature of 12v car adapter. The product description on Amazon stated it was compatible with the NP-BG1 battery, but this charger has stamped on it "FT1/BD1/FE1/BG1". I don't know about other batteries, but I have both Sony NP-FG1 and NP-BG1 batteries (essentially the same) and it charges both without problems (e.g. no overheating of the battery). I have charged both batteries at least twice and have noticed no difference in charge time.

My batteries have three copper contacts, but only two of them make contact in the Sony charger, and it is the same with this charger. Perhaps the people that have stated their battery doesn't fit, or won't charge, didn't see the sheet of paper with large text that stated to turn the BG1 battery backwards in the charger.
