In 1760 York County was divided with two new counties, Cumberland and Lincoln, being added. These early marriage returns have been painstaking extracted by Judith Kelley and Clayton Adams from the original volumes. Returns were recorded until 1892 when the requirement for county registration of marriages was terminated.
These records, spanning well over a century, will prove to be extremely valuable for researchers.
