The Lange CMDT series is worth the money.

Need it be pointed out once again that ME is a severe neuro-immune disease not Idiopathic Chronic Fatigue?

I used it as a reference book, reading about topics which I poorly understand.

I basically agree with all the reviews of this book. However, I would strongly NOT recommend the KINDLE version of this text. The ability to search the text is very poor. Most text searches require very precise wording to locate an item of interest and will generally find the first occurrence not the primary entry that the paperback index references.
The only option is therefore to start at the beginning of a relevant chapter and troll through trying to find the reference you're looking for. Hardly helpful in a book that averaged around 2000 pages.

Get the paperback version. Kindle reference texts aren't usable. Perhaps iPad will do it better.....

This is my favorite book to study from. It gives you the essentials to pretty much any health related problem. Ok, so it's not Harrison's book of internal medicine. But it is small enough that I can carry it without getting a hernia.

The Lange CMDT series is worth the money. Nothing in depth, but authoritative and concise. I use this text often in my teaching medical students in China.

Love this book. Great balance between disease etiology, pathophysiology, clinical signs and symptoms, diagnosis, and treatment.

I totally recommend this older edition for med students and interns because it's way cheaper and it's a great reference book to have at home while one is studying.

I'm an M4, and I really like this book. It contains information about a lot of diseases encountered in general medicine, but it is not too in-depth. I used it a lot to study for USMLE Step 2CK (in addition to Crush Step 2). I used it as a reference book, reading about topics which I poorly understand. I like the wording. I like the photos in the middle. It is also a great value -- I don't think I even paid $40 for it brand new. It is my opinion that anyone who wants to break the average on medicine boards or USMLE Step 2CK should read from this book throughout M3 year, or at least during your medicine rotation.
