I got this hitch as I needed an adjustable hitch for my Duramax truck.
Some notes about this hitch that you may not know:

- The shank is solid metal - not hollow.
- The 2" ball can handle up to 10k lbs
- The 2 5/16" ball can handle 14k lbs
- Tongue weight 1500 lbs

Pretty nice and manly looking mount!

If you care about where it is made, it's made in India. I wouldn't say India is better than China in manufacturing, but this is a well made hitch with good welds.
It's a very heavy hitch ball mount. It doesn't look as nice as those hidden hitch brand, but it outperforms them and that's what counts.

Let me start by saying this thing is VERY HEAVY! This is one adjustable hitch that you can really use. One tip, the hitch is solid steel, there is no hollow tube so certail anti-rattle or locking hitch pins won't work. Another thing to think about is how far down this will hang from your truck. If at it's lowest point it's a 6" drop then you also have to consider the other ball that's hanging down so now your looking at around 9" hanging down. I never thought that a 2wd 3/4 truck would scrap the hitch on an approach.

So I bought it put it on my truck and drove from from Virginia to Alaska. Through some of the worst roads I could imagine being on while towing. With 12,000LB give or take trailer weight and this performed perfect. I really liked the adjust ability because on certain parts of the trip I was getting a lot of heat in my tires on the rear axle. So I adjusted the ball mount to put more weight on the truck good to go. I think this is a great product...

I spent an almost unbelievable time trying to pick a new hitch for my 2013 Suburban so I am writing this review to help others decide. My '04 had the receiver below the bumper, but on my new truck I needed an adjustable hitch because it is so much higher. I actually ordered this one, the Andersen Rapid hitch, and one from Trimax. This one is easily the strongest, but it is also longer than the Andersen, and clunky if you do not tighten the anti rattle bolt. If you need to change settings often, it will be a hassle, and it is heavy with sharp corners that will damage things if you leave it in the back of your truck. If you want to do light duty towing with moderate loads, the Andersen would probably be fine, and it is the one I have decided to keep. It is the shortest (ball is close to the truck) and lighter than the Curt. It will store easier and can be folded back on itself. Most of my towing is under 7000 pounds and usually just around the boat yard. If you want to do serious towing with heavy loads, get the Curt. A friend of mine uses the Andersen to tow a 10,000 pound trailer, and the aluminum simply does not stand up. Don't buy the Trimax, you can read my review on the 8" hitch to see why. I hope this helps save you some of the time I spent on this.

I purchased this hitch after breaking my last box store type hitch. Almost lost my 7,000 lb boat on the highway. This hitch is solid steel. Not hollow like most others. Also, it's rated at 14,000 lbs. 4,000 lbs over others I've found as well. Buy it and you will not be dissappointed.

Would have given it 5 stars but the anti rattle bolt doesn't work with the ball mount in the highest position (when the hitch plate is pointing down). I stripped out the bolt because it just grazes the ball mount when its in that position.

I love this insert. It's completely overkill and manly. It oozes testosterone. Whether you're pulling 2k lbs or 14k lbs, it does it effortlessly. It doesn't even flinch with some nasty tongue weight. It weighs a ton and that assures me there is something holding it all together. It's super easy to use and adjust and the built in anti-rattle is a cinch and actually works. Just wish it came with small locks for the the actual two rods that go through the ball component so it doesn't walk away by theft. The only complaint I have with it, is the black paint flaked off on the shank that inserts into the actual hitch. Also, the two balls are a bronze/gold color, not silver like the picture. It looks pretty sexy on the back of my diesel truck. It's a very serious hitch insert for a serious load. It's no joke and worth the cash.

Our trailer road too low on our hitch and needed lifted up. This ball mount did just what we needed plus we like that we have both size balls right there!
