5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Value
I got my pack in today and the first thing I did was inspect it from top to bottom. Everything seems to be well made, well stiched, and very durable. It has alot of pockets, extra tie downs for add on's, and the waist/shoulder straps seem to be well padded.

It did not specify in the description, but it does have a place to put a water bladder with an exit...

3.0 out of 5 stars Bring Spare Parts!
One mile into my first trip with this pack, the clasp on the hip belt broke. Fortunately, my hiking buddy had a spare on him and I was able to replace it. Other than this, the pack performed well. It's a good price, but I recommend keeping spare parts on hand.

It did not specify in the description, but it does have a place to put a water bladder with an exit hole for the tube.

As in other reviews one complaint was stiff zippers, but I found the zippers to open easily, they are large zippers with cord attached, the only difficulty I had was with the zipper on the bottom section and it wasn't the zipper that caused the problem, but the flap that covered it, however I found this to be a problem on all of the packs I have looked at.

I looked at alot of packs at many different stores. Prior to finding this pack, I was about to spend $180 for one the same size, it did carry a life time warranty, however no more than I paid for this pack, I can afford to replace it if it gets damaged beyond repair.

I originally gave this pack a good review, however I used my pack for the first time this past weekend and the quality of this pack is horrible...on the very first day of the hike a zipper broke, and the belt fastener of the waist band broke. On the second day i was securing my sleeping bag and the strap broke, so i had to finish my hike without a waist strap and i had to tie my sleeping bag onto my pack. I am currently trying to find out how to contact the company so i can see about getting my money back.

5.0 out of 5 stars Surprisingly, worth more than I paid !!!, October 28, 2008

Worth more than I paid, (don't tell the manufacturer) - I am a big guy at 6"1" 250lbs. This pack adjusted to fit me just right. The straps are all double stitched, the fabric is of a good quality, and all potential weak points are reinforced. I didn't expect much in the way of quality or features based on its price, but once it arrived I was very impressed. So much so that I called a buddy of mine who is also a Scout leader and he purchased one that day. We both used them last weekend. My buddy is approximately 5' 10" 180 lbs and the pack adjusted to fit him just fine. Once adjusted properly, you hardly notice the 40-50lbs on your back that is because it transfers the weight to your hips. This is a perfect pack for all normal Scout outings. I cannot tell the difference between this and a $150+ pack that you can buy at REI. Maybe it weights ½ lb more? The only drawback I can see is that it does not have a built in rain cover. But for the price and weight I will carry a tarp that I can serve a dual purpose and can be placed under my tent.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great for weekends, July 30, 2009
This review is from: CUSCUS 75+10L 5400ci Internal Frame Camping Hiking Travel Backpack (Misc.)
I took my first hiking trip this spring. I purchased this bag because of its low cost and good ratings. The bag held everything that I needed, but didn't carry the weight well. After about 2 days the bottom strap broke... while I was on the top of one of the trails in the Smokies. I think the build of this bag is great other than that and it kept everything dry in the rain. If I wasn't by myself and carrying everything on my own, it would have handled the wight and load just fine. If you need a good weekend bag, this one will be great!

3.0 out of 5 stars Just ok, great for beginners, not for avid hikers, December 3, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I took this on a 75 mile loop through the BWCA. So I was canoeing, hiking & portaging. I really put this pack to use. I found the shoulder straps, and waist straps to be uncomfortable after awhile. I placed extra shirts under the straps for extra padding. They rubbed my shoulders almost raw towards the end of my trip. During the trip I had busted a zipper, and after the trip I noticed that rips/holes were forming on the side pockets at at the very bottom wear I had threw my pack down after long portages and what not. I don;t treat my camping gear with too much care, because after all its camp equipment. Its meant to be rugged and withstand that abuse. After long exhausting hikes, the last thing I think about is putting my pack down gently.
There is a ton of room in this thing. You can fit a weeks and weeks worth of gear into it. But the more weight the more your shoulders will suffer from the so so straps. It can be adjusted a lot which is nice. Once one adjustment got unbearable you could adjust slightly to relieve some of the pain. This was a continuous cycle.
It got wet a bunch during the trip. It dry's somewhat fast when empty and if there's a nice breeze. Once wet its heavy! The material used absorbs the water and holds it until you do something about it.
Good pack though, if your a beginner and don't plan on huge adventures in rugged terrain then this pack is great! I would recommend this pack for mild explorers!!!

Cheers!

Great backpack! I went on a 2 week mission trip to Togo, Africa and pretty much lived out of this bag and nothing more for the entire time. For a trip that long I would have liked just a tiny bit more space, but it served me well. I did end up buying a compression pack (recommended) to be able to fit lots of clothes and a sleeping bag and take up less room than normal.

I never had to wear the bag for more than maybe 30 minutes tops at a time in the airports, but it never felt uncomfortable as long as I used the waist and chest straps.

Anyway, this is recommended, especially for the price, about $35 when I got it! Do keep in mind that shipping is around $30 for this, and it's not on Amazon Prime. So I ended up paying roughly double the cost, but I have friends who payed that much for their backpacks and I felt like this was a better bag anyway.

5.0 out of 5 stars Did awesome 3months in Asia, August 7, 2011
This review is from: CUSCUS 75+10L 5400ci Internal Frame Camping Hiking Travel Backpack (Misc.)
I looked quite a while to find a female backpack reasonably priced. Im 5'2 120lbs. It was ~16kg most of the time. I was able to backpack through 12 countries with it. One of the clips broke at the end but thats only because the bag went through a lot being thrown from boat decks to docks by crew etc
It was on roofs of 4x4s, multiple airplanes, sleeper trains...you name it, it did it! Loved the pockets! However, if you are looking for 5 star backpack, it may not be for you....and not for this price! There isnt an air ventilation net like other packs. The shoulder paddings might not be enough if you will be trekking extensively with 15kg or more. For the price, it did more and beyond for me. I kept the pack at the end of my trip for another trip because it was so useful. I would buy this product again.

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent and durable product!, November 23, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I have had this pack for awhile now. I have taken it hunting/camping 3 times. It has also helped me move 3 times. It has great storage space and is very durable. No rips or loose threads so far. It can be quite uncomfortable with a full pack after even 2 hours of hiking but not unbearable. I am 5 10" 130lbs pretty slim. And the waist strap will only fit around my waist if I have a coat on. I carry a single man tent in the bag which leaves very little room for other things, although I still have room in the side pockets for small objects. I can fit 2 or 3 sets of clothes with my tent in the main compartment and mount my sleeping bag on top. Unfortunately I could use a little more room but I don't think I'm big enough to carry a bigger backpack!

Over all if it looks like something you could use get it! It's of great quality and won't disappoint. I also installed a water bladder which this pack is set up for.

5.0 out of 5 stars Worth every penny, September 23, 2008
You can't beat this for the price. Fits everything I need for travel. Especially like you can separate the sleeping bag compartment or open it and have the entire bag for use. Outside pockets are roomy and the top pocket fits everything else I use.

Best buy for the buck.
