This review is from: CVO: Covert Vampiric Operations (Paperback)
I don't understand this fascination with making concepts from made up words...first chew and now this. I'm ok with made up locations and acronyms but for comic writers to invent an entire vocabulary to mask the flimsiest of plot devices is beneath contempt. Such is the case with chew, and now CVO. The concept and acronym I must admit are cool ideas and I was rather excited to read it but my enthusiasm cooled as I read this explanation for a (well, THE) key plot device: "artillica - a hybrid of magical artifacts and state-of-the-art technology. Very rare and powerful stuff." Come again? That's all you have? Ok! No further explanation necessary! Now an even greater idea is to use this technology to infiltrate ALL IDW titles, like a ...blackest night(another pointless idea). I guess comics are supposed to be dumb after all.

Book is drawn and written very well and works very well as an origin story for those with no background on the CVO series.
