5.0 out of 5 stars better than expected!
I am not a running expert but wanted some tights essentially for warmth this winter. I was amazed at how much better my legs felt after running in these versus just wearing shorts or pants. My legs were not as tired after running which has allowed me to increase my distance. I was sceptical about compression wear at first but now am a believer!

2.0 out of 5 stars Interesting idea, poorly executed
It is an interesting idea to combine muscular/joint support in a tight. CW-X falls short IMHO in two respects. First the "support" is far short of that need to actually provide protection for knees. It feels good, but that's as far as it goes. Second, if you are over 6 feet tall and athletically built, the tights are several inches too short. Clearly a Tall size is...

4.0 out of 5 stars Worth the money., February 19, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I bought these mostly as a skin layer for mountaineering and secondly for running on cold days.

At first I thought they might also be a tad too tight (I got a M and I am a 31 waist 30 length). I was wondering if I could put up with them for more than 8 hours. Had them on for about 36 hours straight under snow pants and fleece pants and they did not actually bother me at all. They did their job pretty damn well. Maybe they just needed to stretch a little.

I read others say, they ankles are tight. They are. Although mine have loosened up noticeably. Luckily they never made the dreaded pop of torn threads. Just be careful before they've been worn a lot.

In terms of the 'support' thing. I think it is mostly a bunch of BS. I didn't buy them to keep my body together, bought them to rid moisture and give a little insulation. If you're complaining about knee support and a avid runner, I suggest cycling. I am hard pressed to believe a little stretchy fabric will help your bone structure in the long run.

Great tights. I wear them for snowshoeing and bicycling (when it's cold). Warm and wind resistant.

4.0 out of 5 stars Warm and comfy, December 14, 2009

These tights have worked well in the cold and snow. Too early to really tell if the stabilizing function works as advertised, particularly around the knees. A tad short in the waist, but maybe that's just me.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great deal, February 17, 2012

I am new to running tights and these were on sale so I figured I would give it a shot. Went running in 20 degree weather and did not feel cold at all. I enjoy the compression on my legs. I have a 33" waist and I purchased a large. A medium probably would have fit, but the large were $40 less, not sure why. Good purchase.

5.0 out of 5 stars Spring Loaded Assist. They're worth it., December 22, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I'm really glad I took a chance on these and bought them. I was very hesitant and a little skeptical if they'd live up to the claims, but there were enough good reviews here and elsewhere that I decided to just try them. I absolutely LOVE them. They are very comfortable, and I can feel the support right away. My main use for them is snowboarding, and after a long day on the mountain my legs feel less tired. I have tried one day this season without the CW-X pants (after having worn them 4 ski-days previously) and the day I didn't wear them I could really notice their absence. My legs definitely felt more fatigued by the day's end.

The compression areas feel great, and the knee support not only gives me confidence but it also feels it's genuinely assisting me in the bumps. I ride alot of bumpy mogul runs, and flex my knees constantly over a day at the hill, and wearing these pants definitely gives me an advantage. It feels like when I bend my knees, I'm compressing a spring - and so straightening my legs again feels like I've got "spring loaded assist". That's about the best way I can describe the feeling. Although I'm in good shape, I'm not as young as I used to be and every advantage helps.

I am super pleased with this product, and will be getting a second pair.

My only complaint would be that I had expected them to be a little warmer - they are somewhat "insulating" but for a good Canadian winter (I ski/ride in the Banff area) I think the average person would want a little more warmth. I wear these as my base layer, and put another layer of merino wool longjohns overtop of them. With those two layers underneath my ski-pants, I have been perfect so far this winter - never too hot, never too cold, always just right. The materials used in thes pants breathes very well, so they keep you in the Goldylocks zone (not too hot, not too cold, juuuuust right!).

I haven't worn them running yet this winter, as I usually run on an indoor track - but if I was to go for a jog outside I'd definitely want to put these on. They just make the legs feel good. And for anyone who wants to enjoy the outdoors often - that feeling is worth it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Pleased With Product Performance, November 16, 2010
I'm 6' tall and about 215lbs. I bought these having no idea on what they were or what's out there. I just wanted some pants to keep the cold wind off of my legs and keep them warm or comfortable at the same time. I noticed they were pretty tight around the quads and the knees. I really enjoyed the support. After doing a little poking around I no know there were compression pants to help support what ever activity you're doing. Traveling, walking, running...it helps with the lactic acid build up too if you do squats, lunges, sprints and are sore afterwards.

Anyway, I've enjoyed them especially since I stumbled across them by accident. From the support, looks/design, fit, and price I've been pretty happy. I'm looking to get my second pair.

Clearly a Tall size is needed, but alas, that would have cost CW-X a few dollars.

If you're short, they might work for you, but don't expect any real support. I'd love to return these.

2.0 out of 5 stars not good, January 17, 2010

No matter how well the technology works, there are only four sizes and they don't fit all. I am 5'9" and am between sizes. I sold this product to a friend because it actually caused me problems while I ran because of the fit.

1.0 out of 5 stars Worst Operations of a Company I've seen, January 15, 2010
Don't buy from CW-X, they are the worst company I have ever had to deal with when it comes to operations. I put in an order and it took a month of badgering them to ship it, and they didn't even pay the extra to make sure it was signed for so it never arrived. Also some items were backordered and they think it could be months before I see them.

Awful experience and now I have to dispute charges for the stolen shipment. Save yourself the hassle and go with another brand.
