Choosing the right size is the tricky part!, December 17, 2010
After reading all of the wonderful reviews for CW-X compression tights, the most difficult thing for me was choosing the right size. I am 5'6" and 155 lbs. I've run 3 Half Marathons in the past year and usually run about 20 miles/wk. I started with the Insulator in a Large. They seemed to fit fine, but were not nearly as difficult to get on as others had described. They seemed to stretch out a little after wearing them and were noticeable loose in the knee. I knew they were too big, because the knee would slide down when I ran and I found myself having to hike them up and reposition. I wondered if I wasn't getting the full compression benefits because they weren't tight enough.
I had also ordered the Stabilyx in a Medium, knowing that I may find the Large too big. I'm not sure if the Stabilyx runs smaller than the Insulator, but I found they were WAY too tight. I wondered if I'd actually be able to run uphill in them, because they were hard to walk in. So, I tried the Insulator (L) for 3 runs. Although the thermal aspect was GREAT (20-30 degrees), I didn't feel the compression was really working.
I finally tried the Insulator in a size Medium (which is the size the size chart recommended). They're perfect. I did a 10 mile run this morning and could really feel that the compression was doing it's job. My knees didn't feel nearly as tired as they usually do after 10.
These tights are also very flattering. Think of the benefits of a girdle or a swimsuit that claims to make you look 10 lbs lighter. These tights basically do that. I think they are very comfortable and look forward to using them all winter.

good running pants, December 15, 2011
I do love these pants. I am very happy that I got them for a great price on Amazon. I think that I would be disappointed if I had paid over $100. I wore them on Thanksgiving morning for a 10k. It was a chilly am but I was very comfortable in these pants. My only complaint is that if they do not fit perfectly you will have to tug on them during your run. If your knee is not in the perfect place-the support bands will end up pulling on your knee and cause discomfort. I am 5ft 3" and have an athletic build ( i usually have to worry about things fitting over my thighs). I usually wear a 2 or 4 and the small fit great.

Causing some sore muscles., January 9, 2012
I am happy with the fit (the sizing chart said I should wear a medium, and it was true to size), and the pants keep me pretty warm on 20 degree runs. I've worn them twice, and they're causing sore muscles on my left leg. I'm certain it's the pants- I'm an experience runner & the pants are the only thing that has changed. My muscles are tender around the back of my leg above the knee, at the outside bottom of my hamstring where the extra supportive fabric wraps around. I'm not sure why it's only on the left side, and not the right. I'm going to research this more. I've only read one other person mentioning this type of problem on reviews.
