A Perfect Combo - Ca'Purange !, October 19, 2006

Dexter Gordon and Thad Jones built a perfect combo in front line of this quintet. It was a pity that they only made one full album together in early 1970's. Ca'Purance is one of the best albums of Dexter Gordon and a real gem. It has the same quality with the classic Blue Note albums from early 1960's, which have been regarded the best albums which Dexter Gordon ever made. Hank Jones plays nice along with Stanley Clark and Louis Hayes in the rhytm section.

Worth owning this CD, May 24, 2004

I love the the title track, even though I have no clue what the name means. There are only 5 songs on this album, but they are nice jamming excursions. Overall, the album has a mellow feel.
