5.0 out of 5 stars SPACE AGE BACHELOR PAD!
if you can imagine that, you can hear it in this music. everything which is exactly inverse musically of the 90's and 00's goth and emo kids is vociferated with Juan Garcia Esquivel. Yes, it is OK to be happy. Yes it is ok to have jazz guitar and flute, and what i even think is a harpsichord on one of the tracks!
Not gonna get into technical stuff. Just listen and...

3.0 out of 5 stars Transcending transitions
Covered in kitsch, it is still impossible to deny many of these dated compositions do not hold visionary moments- the fun is feeling those exact transitional moments, where corniness subsides and immortality resides.

My partner and I love to have a late afternoon cocktail, put in our Esquivel, and sit back and enjoy. That's REALLY what this album is ALL about.. Cheers, dears!

RCA gives you a sampling of all of Juan's domestic recordings here and the sound is on par with the import Esquivel CD releases. But be warned, once you hear Juan you are going to want to buy the entire collection!

3.0 out of 5 stars 50's film retro, May 10, 1999

Listening to this album takes me back to the 50's. It's like being in a time warp! I like the way it was able to capture the sounds of things familiar, when things were simpler and music was full of everyday emotions.
