HUGE disapointment,

Having a past Cabela's Big Game Hunter 2005 0r 2004, this game was made for 6 year olds. All you had to do was run to a check point and shoot the animal, with just running up to it a hitting the button on your mouse. You need absolutely no skill what-so-ever to play this horrible game. The Cabela's big game hunter I had b4 was a lot more challenging. Having the hunting lodge where you would sleep, heal, rest, buy/sell gear, rent vehcales; also a much more deeper campaign that took you everywhere in a logical manner, not just jumping around from one side of North America to the other. And the hunts themselves, the meat an potatoes of the game were the worst I have ever played. Don't waste your hard earned money on this, I simply threw this game away in the dumpster is was so awful, wouldn't wish my worst enemy to have this game.

The graphics are not badly done, although the gaming is a bit on the predictable side as to where to fight, etc. Depending on the level played; Novice, Normal, Expirenced, it does give a challenge. When so many companies are no longer seeming to make hunting games, at least Cabela's does remember those of us who happen to purchase games such as these and does do it's best to keep us entertained! Over all; I would say it is worth the price to buy.

i will never purchase another cabelas game or product again. i played this game and encountered a problem in it. i was unable to procede past a certain point so i attempted to get info assistance from cabela and activision allmost daily for a week. the only answer i got was "i have no answer for your situation" so this long time fan is no more. what a waste of money and some serious time THANKS FOR NOTHING !

This game is a definite change from previous ones. The graphics are better than previous ones. The AI is better and if one has played previous games, one notes that many different features have been combined into this one. Improvements are that one finally has to claim the kill (albeit the kills in question are Trophy class only), older animals are given higher point values than younger ones which reinforces good wildlife management, and there are a number of unlockable animals if you play the open hunts.

Cabelas should be ashamed to put their name on this game,

I had purchased a Cabelas hunting game several years ago. It was a horrible excuse for a video game. I decided to try one more time and purchased Cabelas Big Game Hunter. This version is worse than the old one. There are almost no instructions with the game, weapon aiming is difficult at best. Shots off target still drop animals. I could go on and on. I would have given no stars but the system wouldn't let me.

I have played many hunting games, and to date, this is by far the worst one that I have purchased. Even the original Big Game Hunter that I own from a long, long time ago has better game play for the money. On top of this, the original Deer Hunter was even a better investment. If you want to actually get your money's worth for a hunting game, I recommend either Hunting Unlimited 2008/2009 because of the vast expansiveness of the game and additional features that can be added on, or pick up Deer Hunter Tournament. These games cost really no more (in fact I bought HU2008 for the exact same price)as this terribly designed game and poor excuse for an addition to the Big Game Hunter series. In fact, the only Cabela's game I would recommend is the original Dangerous Hunts...It kept me ammused for about a month.

I bought this game for my husband who, in the past, has loved the Cabela's Big Game series for the PC. This game, however, was a huge disappointment to him. He has gone back to his previous versions of Cabela's for his computer hunting entertainment.

The game sets down guide lines for you so all you need to do is walk on the trails and you will get your SO CALLED trophy. If you are 5-10 this is the game for you.

This is very nice game with great graphics and levels of difficulty with variety of animals in various locations. Even basic levels are not that much easy which makes it stand out then other hunting games.Encounters with dangerous big game are difficult but fun! It will be nice if they support joysticks too Like Philips or Logitech.

I've just gotten It, but can see from the start It seems like a "Microsoft-Type-Improvement" - {The more "IMPROVED - New" - the WORSE It gets.! As, near as I can tell so far It's even 2 steps behind "Dangerous Hunts" Good Ol' Caballe's Hunting Unlimited Is My choice..By Far.!
