Husband bought this because he thought it was a certain game he had once. Turns out this wasn't the game and he hasn't really played this much. Not that it's a bad game...just he wasn't as interested when he realized it wasn't like the one he had previously.

The realism is great. It makes for a good challenging game. If you get into the wind going the wrong direction the animals will smell you and split. They can hear you from far off as well.

The player can be fatigued, injured, or drowned if he/she isn't careful. There are standard hunting rules that must be obeyed, if not you can be fined and even tossed out of the area.

I've spent hours at a time playing this game.

This is the best hunting game I have had yet. for one reason you get to hunt tons of animals plus, you get to buy your supplies at the store (there is a wide selection of guns, calls, scentcovers, and so on.) Second reason you get to choose what age person you want (on the career hunt)then choose which cabin you want your trophies in. Not to mention when you die unlike in other games,it does not start the whole entire game over. You can just go back to the menu or try the hunt again. I bought this game for 20 bucks but, believe me it is definitely worth the money and not immpossible to beat.

This is as realistic as it gets, I mean it offers the real hunting experiance. I should know, I have tracked down most of the species in Georgia! The animals in BGH don't just stand there for you to shoot at, they have artificial intelligence so they can hear see and smell you from a distance. And once you have benn noticed they run off pretty quickly, no joke.The scenery in the the game is great with everthing you would find outside. The weapons are top-notch,(and here again I should know!)You have rifles,shotguns,bows,and handguns. THIS GAME IS GREAT!!! When I'm not hunting I play Big Game Hunter, and my oldest son is also hooked on it. For the price that they are selling it for this is one of the best hunting games you can buy.

Do they even have hunting or know anything about it in Romania? They cleary don't know much about it which explains why your run out of breath after five seconds in the game and have to walk painfully slow 90% of the time. Also you can walk around while you shoot which my dad would kick my ass for doing. It turns out Cabela's Big Game Hunter, Cabela's Deer Hunt 2004, and Cabela's Dangerous Hunts for the Playstation 2, Xbox, and PC versions are all made in Romania. No wonder Sunstrom, the originator of the game went out of business here in Indiana. I was so pissed I returned this pile of garbage. Any self respecting American should do the same, or not buy any of these games in the first place. You think they could at least make a hunting game in the states. I'm going to wait for Deer Hunter on the Playstaion 2 which is made in the good ole U.S.A. plus the PC version is way better than Cabela's.
