This game is very difficult, but very addictive. There are many many things that are not in the guide and you have to learn on your own. When you play it the first few times do the career mode and save your hunts. 2.0 out of 5 stars Fun, but beware of language and frustration!
Overall, this a very fun game even if it is not "realistic". Most of the action is very fun. Getting attacked by pythons, hyenas, and such is pretty fun and you dispatch them with a few waves of the wii remote. In fact, I often chose not to even try to shoot animals in hopes that they would attack me.

Though very fun, I cannot give the game a high rating...

The career mode kind of walks you through playing and you will not be as frustrated as I was when I got eaten by a lion for the 75th time. Also if you use the zapper, it is alot easier. Just make sure it is in zapper mode.(It will ask you.) I bought this game for my husband and have destroyed many of the levels along with him! It is seriously time consuming but so worth it!

Though very fun, I cannot give the game a high rating for two reasons. First, there are times that you will get very frustrating looking for some of the game (i.e. - tranquilizing the tigers you cannot find on one level). The second, and main one for me, was the constant display of curse words when using the "hunter sense". I would not have even bothered with this game had I know that. This, along with some of the intensity/violence, means this game is not for kids.

4.0 out of 5 stars fun, yet can be frusturating, March 22, 2009
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars

Hunting games have been given a bad rap over the years, probably because theres much more walking and tracking than shooting (which is easily the most enjoyable part). Now introducing more action to the mix with dangerous hunts, which included mostly dangerous game that would happily attack you, but still giving the game a free, open feel but the same problem as several other Cabela's games. Afterward, Activision released a sequel, Dangerous Hunts 2, which replaced realism and a free feel with action and a story, which was a nice attempt yet felt very empty. Dangerous hunts 2009 has solved the problems with both by having constant animal attacks, but using a large, explorable terrain. The animal attacks are enjoyable and the hand to claw combat keeps the game interesting. Action zone (a mode in which you are merely ported to a location with several dangerous animals awaiting you presence) has not only been returned, but also modified, keeping it short for a quick flick of the action, without 20 minutes of repetitive game play on a keyboard or controller. Sadly though, this game is not without flaws. The game terrain can constantly trap you and confuse you, making travel somewhat difficult and the controls can be a little annoying or hard to remember or reach.
other than the occasional flaw, this game is easily recommendable to any Cabela's game fan, but should be used with a wii gun accessory like the perfect shot for the best experience.

Played the game for hours and hours! Bought a Wii gun to use with it, but it wasn't as useful as I thought.

It took me awhile to figure out how to play, and it's a little hard to steady the site but..is fun once you get used to it. The kids liked it. This is one game where buying the enhancements (guns), is worth it.

1.0 out of 5 stars Fun if you like being ambushed and not being able to do anything about it., January 6, 2010
= Fun:1.0 out of 5 stars

Either the animals walk out into the open and you shoot them easily, or, as you walk around, you see nothing, hear growling, then an animal jumps on you and you die. Stupid.

With the previous version, you actually had to hunt...you tracked an animal for some time and when you found it, you lined up and made your shot. If you hit, yay! If not, it would run away and you had to track it again.

With this one, it seems that all the animals are hell bent on killing you.

Not as much fun at all. The previous version was much better.

This game is more difficult than Big Game Hunter but it is fun and addicting. There are alot more animals to hunt and different animals throughout each hunt.

I purchased this game for my husband for Christmas. I did some research and saw that the previous reviews weren't stellar and told him this, but he still insisted he wanted it. He's an avid hunter and wanted a game related to his passion. Unfortunately he didn't enjoy the experience.

The directions could have been more detailed and there weren't many options to select how you wanted to hunt. It was extremely frustrating that many animals would be found, but there was a stipulation that they couldn't be shot until the game "allowed" you to shoot them. We purchased a wii gun to better the game experience, but quickly we learned there were more options available when using the wii remotes.

In the end, my husband grew very bored and probably won't be playing this game too often. He told me he should have listened to the other reviews and what I had said, but for the price, I wish I had been wrong.
