When animals attack!!,
By A Customer
This review is from: Cabela's Dangerous Hunts (Video Game)
5 stars for fun and scary moments! The hunter has finally become the hunted, and the animals are out for payback. It's about time too. Graphics: 4 out of 5 (although some areas in the game deserve a 5, like the forest ravine in Quebec or the plains in Tanzania). Sounds: 3 out of 5 - animals sound good, environment sounds good, it's just a little repetative. Gameplay: 5 out of 5

An Exciting Hunting Game,
By
This review is from: Cabela's Dangerous Hunts (Video Game)
I always thought it would be a blast to go hunting. But I didn't want to go outside and freeze my nubs off. So I asked my wonderful beautiful wife to get me a hunting game for Christmas. Cabela's Dangerous Hunts delivers a lot of thrills. Your heart will almost leap out of your chest as a mountain lion or a leopard leaps out at you when you are least expecting it. Or you will rejoice when you take down a whitetail deer in the eastern lowlands of Wisconsin from 150 feet away with your semi-automatic rifle. The game has three modes of play. The action mode just has animals leaping at you all the time, and you have to shoot them as fast as you can so that you can leap off to the next habitat. This mode gets old quickly. The most realistic mode is career mode. This is where you start out with a bow and arrow and you purchase more hi tech weapons with the money you collect from each succeeding conquest. This is quite realistic, but I don't why you can't start with a rifle, and I still haven't mastered bow hunting yet. For me, the best part of the game is the Quick Hunt mode. Like with the other modes, this comes in Easy, Medium and Hard difficulty levels. I like the easy level, because you can track the animals by following the red dot on your screen. But it is more like real hunting to play the medium and harder levels where you do not have a red dot and have to rely on your eyes and ears and hunches to track deer. And just like with real hunting, you could conceivably spend hours and hours without catching a thing on the levels without the red dot. But for me, this beats sitting out in the cold, although this way, I don't get to eat the meat. For those who want more arcade action from a hunting game, this is the one to get. But watch out for the lions and leopards and wolves and bears and rhinos.

Really great game!,
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars

This game is a lot of fun. It also offers you many options. You can get into a quick hunt, a career, a charter hunt, or into another mode where you are attacked by fierce animals one after the other. It takes a while to complete, is challenging, but playable for those of us with limited gaming skills. And... once you "complete it" it's not over, on the shelf, gathering dust ... go back and start a new career (try a harder difficulty level if you want), or take your existing character, and go on some more charter hunts (now that you completed it you will have an x-ray scope if you choose to use it). More than worth the money! WARNING: D.H.2 is nothing like this one.
