He also won Glenfiddich Drinks Writer of the Year in 2002 for his contribution to publications such as Whisky Magazine, Wine, and BBC Good Food. Dave is author of the Hamlyn Handbook of Whisky, Spirits & Cocktails, and The Connoisseur's Guide to Whisky. He appears regularly on Good Food Live!, and judges at many wine and spirits competitions. He lives in Brighton but is Glaswegian.
