Editorial Reviews

2012 release, the long awaited sophomore album from the Southern California rocker dudes. The album, produced by Mario C., was recorded at Sonic Ranch Studios in Texas and features collaborations with Matisyahu, Del the Funky Homosapien, Ky-Mani Marley and Rome. Cabin, the follow up to 2008's Any Port in a Storm, showcases the band's signature Rock/Reggae/Hip-Hop sound that that is synonymous with its good vibes.

4.0 out of 5 stars A Great Blend Of Hip-Hop & Reggae and Rock. June 19, 2012
Format:Audio CD
The band Dirty Heads dishes out a great blend of Hip-Hop and Reggae & Rock in this new CD titled 'Cabin By The Sea'. The CD (16 tracks) has an interesting opening rocky track "Arrival" : great guitar finger pick-ups, vocals & melody as well as the incredible closing track "Farewell" : wonderful guitar chords, fused with great sea noise and bass (very melodical)! Stand-outs tracks include "Spread Too Thin" (up-tempo track with great melody), "Your Love" (great duet featuring Kymani Marley) & "Farewell". Great Tracks include "Cabin By The Sea" (rocky title track), "Dance All Night" (featuring Matisyahu), "Hipster" (great horns playing), "Notice", "Day By Day", "Burn By Myself" (up-tempo track with great guitar chords & melody) & "Best Of Us". Okay tracks include "Disguise", "Mongo Push" (featuring Rome), "Smoke Rings" (featuring Del the Funky Homosapien, some swearing here), "We Will Rise" & "Love Letters".

On overall, Dirty Heads deliver an enjoyable blend of Hip-Hop & Reggae and Rock, total CD length of 49 minutes and 52 seconds, a recommended CD listening.

5.0 out of 5 stars No words can describe this album June 22, 2012
Format:Audio CD
As the title says I have no words to describe how perfect this album. When I listen to it I don't think wow this is really good or something like that. When I listen to it I just get a feeling. This album just gives the listener such a high no drug could ever hope to give. It just makes you feel that "every little thing is gonna be alright." As I'm typing this I'm listening to the track Day by Day and I just can't stop smiling. Every track you can just feel the energy and passion from it. Some tracks are just so atmospheric and beautiful you just want to close your eyes and listen. Other tracks are far more upbeat but just as beautiful and you can't help but to start moving to it. For me this is the greatest album in almost 16yrs. I've liked the Dirty Heads since I first listened to them back in '08, but Cabin by the Sea made me fall in love with them. This record totally blew my expectations out of the water. This album is just 49min and 52sec of pure ecstasy and happiness.

3.0 out of 5 stars Nice music, wish Dirty Heads had a better recording engineer
The music really rocks, the lyrics are fantastic and engaging, but if you are an audiophile, this is in the B list. High B, but certainly not A.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Dirty Heads ROCK!
One of my favorite bands ever, so maybe I'm a bit biased. Almost as good as "Any Port in a Storm" with plenty of addictive grooves.

3.0 out of 5 stars This a a decent CD.
A few great songs on this one. It's not as good as any port on a storm, but that's okay.
