3.0 out of 5 stars Typical, but good soundtrack.
It's not the best thing I ever heard, but it is a collection of good bands. The biggest songs off this would be "The Primitive Radio Gods" one hit, and "Hey Man Nice Shot" from "Filter". Besides those, the tracks from "Silverchair" and "Cypress Hill" are both good, "Satellite Of Love" and "Oh Sweet...

5.0 out of 5 stars Oh come on...., March 31, 2001
This review is from: The Cable Guy: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack (Audio CD)
This is great....it has Porno For Pyros, highly underrated, Jerry Cantrell, one of the best guitarists ever, a track from Cypress Hill, my second favorite rap group, and one of my favorite songs of all time "Standing Outside Of A Broken Phone Booth With Money In My Hands" by the genius but unfortunate one hit wonder Primitive Radio Gods....

find a way to obtain this....

5.0 out of 5 stars With $10,000 Gold Chain, how can you go wrong??!?!?, February 27, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: The Cable Guy: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack (Audio CD)
This CD contains and great random mix of some of the best artists of the '90s - heck - of ALL TIME. Plus, the $10,000 Gold Chain version of VU's "Oh! Sweet Nuthin'" is beautiful, and great take on the original, filled with the masterful playing of Chris "The General" Friel, "RockTim" DiJulio and Michael McCready. Put this in your CD player, and folks will be asking you where you got this nifty compilation of songs. Once again, it's a case of the soundtrack outclassing the movie.

It's not the best thing I ever heard, but it is a collection of good bands. The biggest songs off this would be "The Primitive Radio Gods" one hit, and "Hey Man Nice Shot" from "Filter". Besides those, the tracks from "Silverchair" and "Cypress Hill" are both good, "Satellite Of Love" and "Oh Sweet Nuthin'" are old "Lou Reed/Velvet Underground" songs, and "Leave Me Alone" sounds alot like "Alice In Chains", which of course "Jerry Cantrell" was in. Also for those wanting a taste of the movie, "Jim Carrey" dialogue opens and closes the cd, and he does a crazy cover of "Somebody To Love" as well. The best thing about this soundtrack though, is that you could now probably find it in any used cd store for almost nothing.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great variety of songs on an awesome sdtrk!!!!!!, July 24, 2001
This review is from: The Cable Guy: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack (Audio CD)
This cd has such variety. Cypress Hill's hardcore rap and the blazing guitars of Filter alone would make this worth your money, but there is so much more to this cd. Porno for Pyros sounds a lot like Jane's Addiction, and the Jim Carrey dialogue is hilarious. Did you know he can sing too? Many other great bands like Toadies, Silverchair, and Cracker contribute, along with one-hit wonder Primitive Radio Gods. I love that song. My only complaint is the absence of the White Zombie song "More Human." Go out and buy this, you won't be disappointed.

5.0 out of 5 stars This collection rocks, not one weak song..., October 30, 2004
This review is from: The Cable Guy: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack (Audio CD)
This collection rocks. There is not one weak song. The best songs are by Silverchair (sounding like Sabbath), $10,000 Gold Chain (Mike McCready sounding like Mick Taylor era Stones) and Porno For Pyros (doing a nice cover of Lou Reed's Satellite Of Love). The other consistently strong songs are by Cracker, Jerry Cantrell, Primitive Radio Gods, David Hilder, Cypress Hill, Ruby, Filter, Toadies, Expanding Man (wasn't this Reeves Gabrels band?) and a kinda funny cover of Somebody To Love by Jim Carrey.
