I can now once again listen to my music through the Bose Sound Dock.

The charge port opening on the iSkin case was just a hair too small, and the cable's connector was a bit too thick to stay connected.

The Dock Stubz converter works just as it said it would. It allows my iPhone 4 to dock to any device without the necessity to remove my OtterBox Defender series case. It was a little difficult finding this handy little device, but I'm glad I did. I could not find a docking station radio labeled iPhone 4 compatible that would work with the case on. I even considered giving up my defender series case and using the very thin silicone cases that are popular and still, the iPhone 4 would not fit in any of the radio docking devices, it was just too wide to get a proper connection. The Dock Stubz eliminated that problem right out of the box.

Fixed my problem, and is a lot easier than taking the case off everyday. I read other reviews that said the product would play sound but wouldn't charge. That isn't an issue with this, as it maintains all the normal functions of the iPhone. Definately would recommend this product

The dockStubz Charge Converter iPod/iPhone dock extender works awesome! I have my 3GS in an Otterbox and this little puppy totally works with it out of the box without "filing down" anything. I can charge my phone in my Logitech speaker dock and listen to music now without a long sync extension cable. Thank you guys for making a very case-friendly product! Apple should totally endorse this thing if they haven't already!

We had an old Bose Sound Dock in the closet going unused. This was the original Sounddock that came with various plates to dock the different iPod products. It only works with older generation iPods and never worked with iPhone or iTouch products. The dockStubz changes all that. Remove the plates and just attach the dockStubz to the Bose Sounddock and you are good to go. iPhone, iTouch, and everything else pops right on and the sound is great.

I got this because of its ability to be attached to an iPhone without having to remove the case (which works wonderfully). I need a charging adapter because my car stereo equipped with an iPod/iPhone interface won't charge the device on its own; a charging adapter is needed for this. The dockStubz fulfills my needs. Except...

When I connect the iPhone 4S to the dockStubz which in turn is connected to the docking cable to my stereo, it makes a loud oscillating noise akin to a motorboat sound. It charges correctly, I can control the iPhone via the head unit, but it's so noisy that I'm sure it's defective. Amazon will only issue a refund and won't do an exchange (pretty lame policy IMO). I've contacted CableJive to see what they have to say. But if I can't get one of these that works correctly it'll be a one-star review.

I should mention that I have a different brand of charging adapter that requires me to remove the iPhone case, and it doesn't make any noise while allowing the iPhone to charge. Also, directly connecting the iPhone to the interface cable to the stereo makes no noise but doesn't charge the iPhone. So if I want to get an adapter that 1) charges the iPhone; 2) doesn't require me to remove the case; 3) allows me to control the operation of the iPhone via my head unit; this is the best choice. I hope they can get me one that works correctly.

UPDATE: After contacting CableJive, they sent me a replacement dockStubz that works correctly -- no noise, and does everything they claim. It fits even when I use my Apple bumper case and charges as it should. CableJive provided a return shipping label for the defective unit too. As a result of providing a working replacement quickly and demonstrating excellent customer service, I'm changing my review rating to 5 stars.

My original dockStubz would not play music on my iHome device, however it WOULD allow the iPhone to charge.

I contacted CableJive by email and they replied promptly with suggestions to make the extender work. None of the suggestions worked.

Before I even asked, and before I even replied to them that their suggestions didn't resolve the problem, the company said they would send a replacement. And they did so immediately and provided me with an easy way to send what did turn out to be the defective item back to them.

The new extender works perfectly.

What a great company to do business with!!!

The description of this item says that it works with every case on the planet...which is a pretty strong statement. I purchased this adapter because I got the new LifeProof iPhone 4/4s case and many of my chargers and cradles don't work in the opening. The whole intent of this device is extend the charging dock and adapt it to other devices, but how is it supposed to work if it will not fit into the opening in an aftermarket case. If you are buying this because you have an element case, lifeproof case, or any other case where you think that a the length and width of the opening is a tight fit...DO NOT CHANCE BUYING THIS ADAPTER!!! as it will likely not fit.

I bought this for use with an iPhone 4S and a Lifeproof case. The dockStubz fits into the case no problem, but the backside has a protruding step which interferes with the Lifeproof hinged cover. It can still be used, but the dockStubz applies pressure to the hinged cover causing the two halves of the case to separate slightly. And when the dockStubz is fully seated into the phone the pressure causes it to be at a slight angle. Imagine opening the hinged cover to its stop and continuing to apply pressure on it so the case begins to separate - that's what the dockStubz is doing. It doesn't seem like it will be a problem, but I am concerned the hinge of the cover will wear prematurely due to the pressure which it is obviously not designed for.

I think for occasional use it would be fine, but for daily extended use it may cause some warping of the case or failure of the hinge. If the dockStubz was designed with the protruding side in front this problem could be eliminated. So while the product works and probably perfectly with any other case, with the Lifeproof the fit is not perfect and you will notice this every time you insert the dockStubz. I will be returning it and trying the RadTech which also has a thicker bottom, but the backside step is smaller since it is symmetric with steps both front and rear. Looking at the Lifeproof case I can see that any adapter is going to apply some pressure on the open cover, it's just a matter of how much and the RadTech should apply less.

Overall it seems to be a great product, but for specific use with the Lifeproof case it's not perfect.

Edit: I have since received the RadTech and it does indeed fit better but does still apply slight pressure on the case.
