Product Description

The iPod-compatible RCA Stereo to Dock Connector Cable allows you to play music from your iPod through your home stereo. The dock connector sends line-level audio out from your iPod, providing better sound quality than when using the headphone jack. The dock connector also allows you to control the volume of your iPod through your stereo rather than having to adjust the volume on the iPod. And, this iPod-compatible cable works with all iPods with a dock connector.

5.0 out of 5 stars Buy this cable, it is way better than using the headphone jack., March 29, 2007

If you like to hook your iPod to a stereo, chances are you are using a 3.5mm stereo jack to RCA lead. This cable, while costing roughly the same connects to the dock connector at the bottom of the iPod and provides a true line-out from the device, and not just a tap to the iPod's outputs. This means that the iPod volume control is not involved at all and you use the stereo to control volume. As the signal level coming out the dock connector is matched to what stereos expect at their line inputs, the sound you get using this cable is way better than you get from a cable hooked into your headphone socket.

Buy this cable, it is way cheaper than a dock for your iPod, so it does not charge the iPod, but then I don't know of many people who charge their iPods in a dock.

5.0 out of 5 stars this cable is the bomb, December 10, 2007

This cable is EXACTLY what "Colton Cat" described and the sound of the ipod using this cheap cable, is totally and absolutely the bomb. I just plugged my ipod into my home stereo and can't believe the difference in the sound, between using the headphone jack (before) and now, directly input into the iPod. The sound is fuller and richer, with a greater frequency response seen on my amp guage and in my own very ears. I'll never by a headphone to receiver jack again. Can't believe what we've been missing all these years.

This connector is terrific. Allows me to listen to my playlists on the home stereo. It's great, although I already blew out my subwoofer lol! The sound is much better than using the mic out. The only downside is that it does not charge the iPod as many have stated, and since the dock connector is being used, you can't have it plugged into an outlet at the same time. I haven't found it to be that big of an issue though... charge it when not is use, and you have at least 3-4 hours or more of play time. The cord itself is not mega-long, so if your stereo equipment is tucked away in an entertainment center, it could prove slightly difficult, but not too bad. I actually ordered my second one today so I have them always plugged in and ready for the ipod in whichever room I feel like listening to it, rather than the trouble of the move back and forth. I highly recommend this product. Plus, $15 and free shipping (with Prime membership, or an order over $25) how can you beat that?
