This is the second purchase of this item. It works as advertised and is at a reasonable price. The product was shipped/received as advertised. I recommend this product/supplier without reservations.

I just found out I can still review this switcher I purchased here 3 years ago. This is a super switcher. I use it every day to switch between my Mac and Windows computers. It has never caused a problem and I get a steady signal to my monitor every time.

We use this device to cycle between our customer pictures and the
salesmens contracts. This device works quickly, quietly and exactly
doing precisely what it is supposed to do, which is to switch views
when commanded. An added bonus is the remote control which works
across the office and allows the salesman to switch views when he
is otherwise engaged without having to reach over the desk and hit
the button manually which can be awkward at times. The device indicates
with a light which feed is being sent to the monitor so there is little
requirement to monitor the screen except to prove the feed is working.

I needed a splitter so I could use two computers with one monitor. After searching I found this one. It comes in a real package (many of these minor accessories are very generic) from Cables to Go. The switch has a very sold feel. You simply connect the two computers and the monitor to the box. Turn on the large on/off button which glows a bright red, and push the selector and a small green light indicates you are on line. There is a very brief pause and you are connected. It also comes with remote that works. The remote will control up to 8 switches. First push and it worked.

The only glitch is that you need two female to female connectors and two male to male monitor cables. Amazon suggests in their buying combinations a female to female adapter, but you need two unless you have a male/female monitor cable. I found two cables on Ebay for $8 and had to order a second female/female adapter from Amazon for about $4. So if you don't have the additional cables you will spend another $15 - $20.

The connectors were shipped much faster than the switch, but all were timely considering is was the week before Christmas.

Update 1-21-2011: This connector continues to work just as I wanted. There is a one secod or so delay and a shrill beep when you change monitors. I fully recommend this switch.

This product is great but I wish that it had come with some VGA converters. Other than that this product is great!
