This cable worked out great. Plugged the S Video into my desktop computer's video card (I have a dual DVI video card with 256MB Ram), and into the headphone jack. Then plugged the RCA cables into the TV. The picture quality is a bit grainey on the TV (Sony Wega 32") so I wouldn't recommend trying to surf the internet on the TV. However, I do pull up my netflix movies to watch streaming netflix movies, and it looks great. I can also go to abc.com and get caught up on a lot of my shows, plus I don't have to watch commercials anymore.

With technologies like this it's almost worth not watching episodes live, but off the internet. Now shows take me only about 42 minutes to watch instead of the full hour.

Bought this cable to hook my laptop up to the TV in my dorm room. 12 feet is plenty of cable for my purposes, and this works just as advertised.

This is exactly what I needed. Very high quality, well insulated cables. Best price found after much research. Would not hesitate to purchase from here again.

I bought this to connect my laptop to my TV: This cable works perfectly, plus, it has a built-in cable for sound - something I didn't even consider until researching S-video/RCA cables on Amazon. I have a 7-pin S-video jack on my laptop, but just as it was mentioned in other reviews and the product description, the 4-pin S-video cable fit and functioned without any problems whatsoever. The audio quality is clear. The green audio cable is attached to the S-video cable. I was able to just pull them apart very easily (just like how the wires for headphones can be split down the middle as much as you want) so that the audio cable could be plugged in on the other side of the laptop. At just under $10 with S&H included, this is a great deal that would run for about $20 in stores like Radio Shack or Best Buy.

Tips: After you plug it in, change your Display settings in the Control Panel. It might also direct you to another program in your Control Panel. For me, it was "NVIDIA Control Panel". From there, I clicked on "Set up multiple displays". I think there was an option about dual display or something so that you see on the TV exactly what you see on your laptop/computer monitor. (The other option only showed the desktop wallpaper on my TV.)

I was looking for a S-video+audio to RCA cable. This worked great. Connection from my laptop to TV is simple. Video and audio quality is very good. Great price as well!!! Would recommend to buy.

If you don't have an HDTV but just a regular TV, this cable will be great. If you have an HDTV, don't expect good resolution.

From what I've read, if you only have VGA or S-Video on your computer, a low-res cable like this is your only option. If you have a DVI output on your computer and have an HDTV or intend to get one, get a DVI to HDMI cable.

The cable has worked as advertised. I'm just disappointed at the resolution.

Excellent product!
Provides much better insulation from electronic interference than other cables I've used. The benefit is clear, noise-free video images.
Works perfectly with my ThinkPad's S-video input and output plugs.
I like the ease with which you can separate the audio wires from the video wires, because those inputs are on opposite sides of my laptop.
Finally, for me the length is just right -- anything shorter would be too short to reach conveniently from my laptop to my home entertainment center.

So the first time I bought this cable, the little gold cap on the end of the s-vid came off after 1 use. Bought another one. The second one hasn't broken yet...

I used to have a home office...and a second 24" monitor to hook up to my laptop for various things. Photos, movies, a second workspace. Then my husband's job became a telecommuting job. He stole my office AND my second monitor! PFFFFT!

Don't feel too sorry for me though, I have it all figured out. Now I do my work on a laptop desk from the recliner in the family room. Heh. But I sure did miss having a second monitor to really blow up photos, or watch a movie while I worked. The 42" TV is here, but not always something to watch on my 400+ channels. *eye roll*

Until I found this cable. This was exactly what I needed to be able to show everyone in the room something I am looking at on my laptop. I use it to put friends and family up on the big screen for Skype video chats, or to watch movies on Netflix while still working on other things on the laptop. I have also used it for a slideshow of photos from my laptop...so much easier to see them at 42"!

I have not had the disconnection issues others have had. Also, on my laptop the s video port is on the back left and the headphone jack is on the front right, and I have no trouble with length for plugging them in.

I think you have to have a certain expectation of the type of cable and it's capability. For me, considering it's an s video to HD TV, it's really pretty clear. Any kind of document reading/writing or fine art work is not doable with this cable. It would be awesome to find an HDMI cable for perfect resolution. I looked all over for a 10-12' HDMI to USB, with an attached sound cable, but could not find one. Still, for the price and what it does, this cable is a 5 star for me.

Works Great to connect my laptop to my Standard Definition TV. A side note to anyone looking to connect to an HDTV: this is not the cable for you. S-Video is a lower resolution format than many other choices. You should look for a DVI to HDMI cable or use a VGA cable depending on the connectors available on your TV/Computer. (DVI will be better quality)
