Was looking for some good thick wire for speakers and when it arrived I kind of wondered what I bought . Upon further inspection I really liked and have used already on main stereo. Will use elsewhere, I am rewiring all of my audio gear and tossing all the old crap. If you want some good wire and you need 12 ga,>BUY.

If you are expecting this to have transparent blue insulation, think again. This has a very heavy jacket with cotton wrap (not typical for speaker wire) for ease of pulling. (It will probably remind you more of a heavy power cord for a power tool than speaker wire.) Each conductor has a very strong, color-coded insulation. The wire works very well although it is a bit tough to strip even with a good pair of wire strippers.

This conducts at least as well as Monster Cable at a much better price.

I have no complaints about it.

This cable is extreme quality built,very thick,military shielded. bought 2 100ft roll(each roll had 10 inches extra) for my 7.2 surround system.I use to have very expensive mit cables for my stereo system and i compared them with the cablestogo,well the diff is so thin why pay a hundred times more.Best cables you can buy for a so low price.Highly recommended.

This is some serious, 12 guage garden-hose type speaker wire. Blue color exterior covers some excellent grade cable. This is a definite upgrade to my system and sounds just incredible! Very happy with this cable and would reccommend it to everyone!

There are a lot of detailed reviews of these cables so I will simply agree with my fellow 5 star reviewers in saying that these cables are the best around, especially at this price! I found cutting though the outer shielding and stripping the inner wires to be a snap, thanks to my Leatherman Wave and my Irwin 8-Inch Self-Adjusting Wire Stripper. The Energy Take speakers I own didn't want to accept 12 gauge speaker wire without a bit of persistence and patience on my part, but since I was running these wires under the floor through our unfinished dirt and stone basement I needed some sturdy stuff. These speakers wires more than lived up to the task and the sound quality is beautiful. I highly recommend these speaker wires (and a Leatherman Wave and Irwin Wire strippers to make the job easier)!

I up loaded 2 pictures (on top of my NHT center) to help give size and color as the picture of the reel is with a plastic wrap holding the wire in place and does not show you the wire jacket color, also the gauge of wire is 2.5mm after tinning with solder (see picture #3) on top of my Jack Bybee custom filter

12 AWG = 0.0808inch or 2.053mm per Wikipedia - so I would say the you do get a true 12 gauge wire with a high quality housing both on the wire jacket and outer jacket.

I agree with one of the reviewer the color is not as shown in light blue but dark blue. And its probably not for wire under carpet and in room since it is hard to hide. its very thick and strong. But the 12 AWG wire deliver!

Also it is NOT solid copper wire, is braided copper wires. if that is a problem for you. It works perfect for my polk speakers though. I used GLS Audio Black Chrome Series "Generation III" Gold Connector Banana Plugs and all works perfect for the 5-way binding post speaker terminals on the back of the speakers.

Ordered 50 Feet. Great Price when compared to others. The Cable is very heavy duty. Kind of difficult to get a good technique to strip it properly, but maybe I just didnt have the right size stripper. It has a nice almost feels like cotton thread insulation around the 2 cables inside so when you try to remove the outer shell you dont damage the inner wires which is awesome. Fast shipping as always.

Well this was made for in home install, but I put it in a 2006 Toyota 4Runner. This product is the best. It's nicely inslated, color coated, and I feel that this is a really good product to use in your Car, Truck or SUV as well as in the Home.
