1.0 out of 5 stars False Advertising, Awful Product - DO NOT BUY!!!, October 30, 2007
This review is from: Cables To Go - 30534 - USB 2.0 to SVGA Video Adapter (Personal Computers)
This thing is TOTAL GARBAGE!. Do ***NOT*** buy it! I paid $99 for it, which is $99 too much.

First off: The alleged manufacturer's web page (CablesToGo; really an anonymous Taiwan OEM) said it would do 1600 x 1200 - total lie; max. is 1280 x 1024.

Second: at its highest res, 1280 x 1024, the display locks up after only several minutes. Disabling it and re-enabling gets it working again, but who the devil is going to do that every 4 minutes?

Third: yes, that video display lags immensely. I'm writing code, so fast screen update is not needed, so I could live with this. IF it did the res. advertised; IF it actually worked for more than 4 minutes at a stretch.

I'll be sending mine back for a 100% refund, I HOPE. This thing is A TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY!

2.0 out of 5 stars Buyer Beware (or at least forwarned)!, August 24, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Cables To Go - 30534 - USB 2.0 to SVGA Video Adapter (Personal Computers)
I wanted to add a second monitor to my emachines desktop running Windows 7. This seemed like a good deal.

However, this (with a blue, not black, casing) is an old version and is not compatable with the Aero function of Windows 7. I happen to like that function. for another verson of Windows, this would be just fine.
