5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect connection to an aux in
I don't know why products like this are so hard to find. I thought it would but no luck does not work at all with my new itouch. So do not buy if you are using a 2nd gen itouch as it will not work.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect connection to an aux in, January 9, 2007
This review is from: Cables To Go 35508 iPod-Compatible 3.5 mm to Dock Connector Audio Cable (4 Feet) (Electronics)
I don't know why products like this are so hard to find. I searched for quite a while for a simple way to connect my iPod to my car stereo's aux in via the dock connector/line out, and finally settled on this one. It does the trick, and unlike others I've owned, it has a dock connector that's just as slim as the original Apple USB dock connector. That means it's much easier to connect to your iPod when it's in a case. For that reason, I prefer it to the retractable Zip Linq cable I had, which had a thick dock connector and which also happened to break on me after a few months' use.

I can't claim to be an audiophile, but the sound quality is flawless to my ears, and *much* better than I've ever gotten out of a cassette adapter or FM transmitter. I've had the cable for about 3 months, and I'm perfectly satisfied. About the only recommendation I'd make to the manufacturer is to offer the cable in a shorter length.

This is much better than using the headphone jack on your iPod to connect to devices. The line-level out produces better sound and you can also adjust the volume level with just the thing you plug it into. Very nice if you want to just plug your iPod into a friends computer and they don't have iTunes installed. In fact, as long as they have a sound input, they don't have to have anything installed at all. Also works much better connecting to cars with an AUX input than the headphone jack.

Don't waste your $$$ on a FM tuner for $40! This is perfect for a late model car. Works great! You can control your volume through the radio and change the songs on the ipod.

I did quite a bit of research before deciding on this cable. The sound quality via this connection to the Aux in on my Chevy Impala is the best that it can get. I recommend this to anyone looking for good sound, but who doesn't need to power the device at the same time.

5.0 out of 5 stars Not the product that I received ..., October 22, 2007
This review is from: Cables To Go 35508 iPod-Compatible 3.5 mm to Dock Connector Audio Cable (4 Feet) (Electronics)
(Note that this star rating should be applied to the "Inspire 3.5mm AUX to Dock Connector Cable for iPod Nano, Video") The cable that I received provides great sound and was shipped in a timely manner. I noticed that the connector for the cable received was not gold as I remembered it being shown in the add. So when I double checked, I found that I had received a different, cheaper cable than what I had ordered but was still charged the higher price and was given no indication that there had been a switch. I followed the procedures and sent the distributor (ClearAV) an email. It took them several days to respond and acknowledge that they had shipped a different cable because the original was out of stock. I responded to the email saying that I would keep the cable and would like a price adjustment. It took a couple of more days to get a response saying that a credit would be applied. The credit was applied, but ClearAV should have included notice and credit in the shipment. I also think that it is odd that it takes them so long to respond to emails, but in the end everything was taken care of. By the way, the cable that I received was "Inspire 3.5mm AUX to Dock Connector Cable for iPod Nano, Video" now listing for $4.99.

5.0 out of 5 stars A must-have for using iPod in your car, April 7, 2008
This review is from: Cables To Go 35508 iPod-Compatible 3.5 mm to Dock Connector Audio Cable (4 Feet) (Electronics)
I recently ordered this cable after reading reviews here for my very first iPod (80GB silver) - I wanted to be able to get rid of cluttering cds in my car without losing any sound quality. I already had an AUX/audio cable (which I bought really cheap from monoprice dot com) with 3.5 jack on both ends to use to connect to my AUX input in car but after reading the reviews here I thought I'll give it a shot.

After I got my iPod and cable I first hooked up iPod using the old cable using headphone jack on iPod. The quality of sound was somewhat disappointing. I was expecting a better quality sound. It was not a total failure but still I had to crank up the volume to get decent loudness. I then hooked up iPod using this Cables To Go cable. The difference was AMAZING!! I instantly felt like I was listening to CD music in the car! The sound was many times better than the cable I was using to connect with headphone jack on iPod. I wish my car also allowed to changing the tracks using steering wheel controls I have on my Camry 2008 but that's something auto manufacturer should incorporate in their models.

I'd strongly recommend this cable to anyone who wants to use iPod in his/her car using AUX input in the car. The cable is of good length and material looks and feels nice and durable. Well over worth the money!

This type of cable is difficult to find in stores. The dock connection allows your car stereo, etc. to receive line-level input, which makes for a clean signal and distortion-free music output. As others have mentioned, the only downside is that the connections aren't gold-plated like the picture indicates. For a normal music lover, I doubt you could tell the difference. This product simply does what it's supposed to, and does so at a good price.

Great for what I needed, I only with it came in black to match the cars interior. I no longer have to adjust the volume on the iPod, or turn the volume all the way up to be able to control the volume from the stereo knobs in the car. I would recommend to anyone, just wish it came in black. Had it, it would have received 5 stars
