Failed after 2 months
Worked as advertised for about 2 months, and then it failed for no apparent reason. After an hour or so of isolating components and trying fresh cables, the only part of the system that is not working is the trulink extender. No amount of unplugging and powering-on in a set order makes a difference, and I double checked the length of my cat5 cables, which are the same...

The HDMI over Cat5E Extender was exactly what I needed. I download movies to my computer hard drive (Blu-Ray, DVD) which is in my office. I ran the Cat6 wire up the wall through the attic and down to my entertainment, surround sound system, about 50 feet. What you have to do is make sure that your display on your Computer is set to 1920 X 1080 and that you duplicate the monitors. I get beautiful resolution, great definition. It was the perfect solution to my problem of running HDMI over a long distance without losing any quality in the picture.

I had been using this device for a couple months and it worked, meaning I could get 1080P video via about 75ft CAT 6 cables but the sound would cut out every few minutes for a second. I was about to throw it out because it was driving me crazy. so, I changed the equalizer adjustment from "0" to "3" and now it works great!

No amount of unplugging and powering-on in a set order makes a difference, and I double checked the length of my cat5 cables, which are the same length to less than an inch difference (as was suggested to another customer by tech support, that I found via google search... Not ever mentioned in the sparse owner's guide). Everything lights up, but no signal is passing through. I have adjusted the equalizer settings exhaustively to no effect.I am waiting for a response from customer service, and I will post updates as I learn more. For now, I have a very disappointing product that I would urge others to AVOID! I will now be shopping for a likely more expensive solution but hopefully longer lived.

VERY nice extender using network twisted pair cable. Video is crisp and sharp at 1080 with a run of about 85ft.
