I got tired of spending $10.00 on a 3 foot cable, I thought it was highway robbery. So, I ventured into makint my own cables. The kit came with the essentials, cable plugs, wire strippers, and cable tester. From there it was a matter of building the cables. It took a few tries to get it right, but with the help of the cable tester, you can be assured your cables are built tight.

not much to say, includes everything you need to make a TON of wires / wire a house / whatever. why pay 8bucks for a 10foot pre-wired cable when you can make them yourself...assuming you need more then a few. Either way..cheap, good value. Crimper was a bit finicky at times....gotta put some muscle into it so to speak. tester = invaluable...no one plans on making mistakes but I sure did anyway.

Probably not for the novice, but a great all-in one package. Defintely better than pulling pre-terminated cables. Terminating CAT5 requires patience, precision, and good eyesight. There are better crimp tools, but the tester was very handy and simple. Cable pulled easily from the box without catching or tangling.

I ordered this kit to practice making patch cables, so I didn't really need anything fancy, but I was pretty disappointed at the quality of the tools that come with this kit. The crimper does what it's supposed to do but it's very, very cheap and you have to try a few times before your cable is properly crimped down.

The wire stripper built into the crimper is completely useless. The blades are not very sharp and it almost always cuts into the casing of the inner wires and only cuts half of the outer casing. The cable cutter works but it's hard to get a smooth, straight cut.f

The cable tester did not work for me at all, even on store-bought cables that were definitely good cables. The thing just flashed orange and did nothing. The instructions were barely legible because this is a cheap Chinese product. It also didn't look at all like the picture.

Point is, I just spent a lot of money on 500ft of (grey, not white like the description says) cable instead of getting a "kit" because the tools that come with it are useless. Reason I'm giving it 3 stars is because the cable is fine.

Bought this product to run ethernet to all of the bedrooms in my house (no more latency of a wireless connection). We ran cables through the basement and then up through the floor. Works like a charm and took us only about 2 hours to run all 4 rooms. I Give it 4 stars for ease of installation because you'll have to know how to crimp the cat5e, but this isn't really that hard to do. Great little package that has everything you'll need.

I finished my wiring project a couple of weeks ago. Wanted to run wired ethernet between two floors of my house. This kit worked great! The cable is good quality, never had an issue with it. I only used the crimping tool for crimping the RJ-45 connectors, but not for stripping the jacket. Stripping the jacket is much more precise and easy with a utility knife (for me). This is not a con it's just how I like to do it. The tester is easy to use and gave me priceless peace of mind that the connections were good. I also made four patch cables to the exact length I needed them. I doubt I will buy pre-made Cat5e cables anytime soon, I still have a bunch of cable left over. Plus it's kind of fun to make your own cables. I'd purchase this kit again in a heartbeat.

The cable, crimper, and tester was used to my expectations. The picture shows a pouch for the tester, which did not come with my order.

it is a cable set and I like it because I made a few cables and they work just fine, and I got myself some extras that I didn't mind having anymore because well...if you are making cables, might as well have too many then not enough....and they where easy to make into cables...nothing weird....first time getting a roll from these guys but I think I might get more if I need them...I liked the price and the quality was alright....

I bought this product with the intention of wiring my whole house, I have kicked off the project and so far the cable has been easy to install with the kit and works as expected.

Wonderful value. Everything about the product was as advertised. The crimps worked well, terminations worked well. I didnt use the meter at all.
