Basically does what it's supposed to. Plug it up to a powersupply and a fan and off you go. No way to give this anything less than 5 stars.

ATX connected to the....Motherboard. Sing along everyone! Okay, NOT funny. This not ONLY connects...But it's a pass through Molex connector!!! How great is that! And it worked when I used it!!! (the fans go crazy, oh the humanity)

So if this is the adapter you need...than I recommend you buy it. Maybe I should have just said "It works".

Good day

I added an additional fan to my computer and needed this adapter to power it as I only have one MB fan header and didn't want to try to split that. This does exactly what is advertised in allowing me to hook up my fan directly to the power supply.

This adapter works equally well for three or four pin fans (which will only use the three pins supplied), and will likely work with two pin fans as well.

The third pin is not connected, as this one would be used to provide speed info to the MB which is not necessary in this case. However, the third pin sticks out past the plastic bracket, and may short if it touches the case or another component (I'm not completely sure if this could happen, but the fan should send pulses down if with speed info, so it probably can). I am going to cover the part of the pin that sticks out with electrical tape so it can't contact anything. Because of needing to do this, I am taking one start off my review.

Additionally, the one that I received does not look like the picture. It has the two ends of the molex connector connected by long wires between them. This could be an advantage for some people on acting like an extension, but I consider it ugly and a bit unwieldy, because of this I took another star.

Was worried at first since I plugged these between the PSU and case fans, and then my pc wouldn't boot! Figured I might've overloaded the PSU or something, but other forum users said that'd be impossible so I reconnected the PSU-to-mobo connectors and the case power-button-to-mobo connector (one of them must've gotten loose) and it worked perfectly again.

I recently bought a closed-loop water cooler for my CPU, and it had three four-pin PWM connectors. My cheapo motherboard only had two. Since the water-cooler pump has been known to act strange when not given the constant 12v, I needed an adapter to run it off Molex.
What they sent is not what was in the picture. You can see that the three-pin connector is flat except for the alignment key in the back.
Well, the one they sent me had a little.. I don't know what to call it, a boot or jacket around the pins. This won't work with a 4-pin connector!
Since I was building my system right then and there, and didn't want to wait another two weeks, I used an X-acto knife to cut the excess plastic off. Now the connectors don't stay together via friction all that well, so I had to wrap it in electrical tape.
This is far from ideal, and I'll be replacing it as soon as I recover financially.

When I got my computer case, one of the molex connectors was defective and a pin was bent, so I had to get an adapter so that my front fan could work. This arrived in a day or two in good condition, was easy to hook up and just the right length I needed. I've been using it for about a month now with high satisfaction.

Pros:
Inexpensive

Cons:
The cable itself might be a little short if you need it to stretch across a case (I had already compensated in my cable management to make sure it would reach the fan)

I ordered a mass of these, they all arrived in one bag undamaged, and I love them. They work perfectly, although you will not have control over your fan speeds, due to the fact they are direct wired to your PSU. So watch out if you think you can use these with a fan controller. You cannot. But I'm not one of those prissy "my case is so pretty and quiet" guys anyway, so air speed doesen't matter to me, as long as my components are cooled.
