I purchased this product in March (approximately 6 months ago). While it worked extremely well when left on a flat, hard surface, I have had a few issues with the fan. Ultimately, the fan stopped working altogether in the past few days (Edited: Updated to include manufacturer's response).

First, potential users should note that the fan does not work well if set on a soft surface (couch or upholstered chair), or held underneath the computer (such as when used on your lap).

Second, it only took about a month before one of the fans started making noise when first turned on. The noise is loud and obnoxious, as if something broke off inside and rattles around. Eventually, after running at full speed for some time, the noise does go away, but the fan never ran as quietly after the first time I heard the loud noise.

Third, the other fan started making noise as well. It was at least a month later, and did not happen in the last two months, but it started making the obnoxious noise as well.

In review, this cooling fan works extremely well for sedentary laptops. However, I didnt buy a laptop to leave it on a counter, table, or desk. This more active usage seems to be beyond the design of the fan.

Edit: Manufacturer's response- After contacting the manufacturer, they responded extremely quickly and offered to replace the product. I was responsible for the shipping costs to them, however.

This is not the cooling pad for someone that wants to place a lap top on a lap.

It is however great for placing the laptop on a solid surface. Does an excellent job of cooling. The fan is somewhat noisy but it has a low pitched tone and for me is not overly bothersome.

I am using this with a 17 inch HP laptop. As long as I make sure the feet of the laptop are on either side of the cooling pad it is a stable base for the computer. Smaller laptops probably would not have a positioning issue.

Due note that uses 2 USB ports on the laptop to function (one for the cooling unit and one for the USB hub). So the net gain is only one more USB connection.

This is not the cooling pad for everyone. But for when I have my laptop at work it provides excellent functionality.

Product does exactly as promised and described. Great space saver with three gadgets in one.

This item worked great in the beginning, but within a few months the device won't maintain power consistently. Literally from one use to the next the power won't work, and better still when it does work you can't move because it may stop working. Considering that the whole notebook does not rest on the device it had to avoid shifting it around while it rest on your lap. My wife has a notebook cooler on which her entire notebook may rest comfortably, buy one of those instead.

This product definitley is not worth the money. It does not stay running,power cord won't stay in, does not cool well, and does not stay where you need it to cool laptop.....when it works.

This is a nice cooling fan, but it is short, so when I am working on my lap, the cooling fan slips out and drops on to the floor. Just inconvenient

This cooler is noisy,the ports do not work all the time and the software does not load.

The small disc included in the package does not load. I can't figure out how to install the fan without instructions. I'll have to find a techie to come over and help me. Meanwhile, there's not a star in the fan's sky.
